  5. Risc OS 3.1 on my A3010 allows dithering of screen modes with
  6. less then 16 colours. This may work under Risc OS 2.00 but I
  7. don't know for sure. This facility means that all output to
  8. window borders, scrollbars etc. is dithered to generate a 
  9. clearer display. However, some non-multisync modes such as
  10. 15 seem to retain this dithering. On my expensive monitor, this
  11. makes the colours look bad, and presumably slows down the CPU
  12. as well. This utility sits on the scrollbar humming away to
  13. itself until you click on it. SELECT turns on dithering and
  14. MENU turns it off again. I suppose it works properly but I
  15. don't fully understand why. This software is not PD at all but
  16. in fact NOT-A-HOPE-Ware. This new breakthrough in marketing
  17. means that if you think this software is the best thing for
  18. your Archimedes since fluffy mice covers then please feel free
  19. to rob a bank and send me the proceeds. I figure in my innocence
  20. that if just one person feels a twinge of guilt at using !ON
  21. then I should wind up with a lorra, lorra money. Unless they
  22. rob NatWest in which case I'll wind up with a huge credit note

  26. Only run one version of !ON at a time. Sometimes quitting if
  27. two versions are running causes the machine to hang but I 
  28. don't yet know enough about Risc OS to understand why.
  29. So don't quit it or run 2 versions or abuse sheep and 
  30. everything will be lovely and covered in flowers.
