  23. FontList file format is in two parts, each with a maximum of 20 entries:

  25.   The first contains 1 line for each allowed font. It is terminated by a
  26. blank line.
  27.  
  28.   The second part gives the correspondence between Acorn and HP font names
  29. for Draw file printing.
  30.  
  31.   This is also terminated by a blank line or end-of-file so this explanation
  32. comes after the second terminating blank line.
  33.  
  34. 1)  The first 16 characters give the font name as to be displayed in the
  35.     Font selection window
  36. 2)  The next 7 characters are the typeface command
  37.      (as given in the 3rd column in table D-6 in the HP users manual)
  38. 3)  Two blanks (ignored but necessary)
  39. 4)  4 Characters defining:
  40.      0 or 1 for mono- or proportional spacing
  41.      B for bold is allowed
  42.      I for italic is allowed
  43.      C for condensed is allowed or one of the following special flags:
  44.        1 (Albertus has 1 extra added to the boldness i.e 1/4, not 0/3)
  45.        2 (Clarendon is only condensed)
  46.        3 (Letter Gothic is not allowed bold and italic)
  47.        4 (LinePrinter is fixed pitch, 16.67 and height, 8.5)
  48.        5 (Symbol needs 19M symbol set)
  49.        6 (Wingdings needs 579L symbol set)

  51.    The second section has the primary Acorn font name (without the 'oblique'
  52. or 'bold') in a maximum of 12 columns followed (after at least one blank) by
  53. a width fudge-factor and then the corresponding HP font name.
  54.    The fudge factor is the ratio of the standard width of the Acorn font to
  55. that of the HP font.
  56.    For the first two fonts (which are proportionally spaced) the
  57. correspondence is almost perfect so no fudging is needed. Acorn define the
  58. width to be equal to the height of their mono-spaced font 'Corpus'; the
  59. factor 0.5982 is the true ratio of the width to the height.
