  6. Hi all - and thank you for downloading IRClient v0.15.  Please note the
  7. following points to get the most out of your time:
  8.  
  9. • Please make sure you change the default session or else you will be logged on
  10.   to IRC as 'nobody' which is more than likely in use.
  11.  
  12. • Please ensure that there is a system variable called 'Inet$HostName' which is
  13.   set to be the name of your computer on the net.  For example, when I connect
  14.   via Exeter University's SLIP lines, my Inet$HostName is set to 'pcslipx'
  15.   where x is the line number I'm on - this means that IRClient can ascertain
  16.   your IP address - which is needed for the DCC transfers.  If you have problems
  17.   with this - set Inet$HostName to your IP address, eg 173.144.6.230
  18.   This is probably best done in your SlipDial (or similar) script.

  20. • As of v0.14 DCC CHAT has been implemented, although not yet tested with a live
  21.   connection!  I am therefore expecting some major bugs to fix in the near
  22.   future.  To use DCC CHAT use the command '/CHAT nickname'.  Any incoming
  23.   DCC CHATs are automatically accepted.  To send over a DCC chat connection use
  24.   '/MSG =nickname message'. '/QUERY =<nickname>' works as well (I hope :-)

  26. • v0.14 also supports (very primitively) other extension applications - read the
  27.   file Docs.Adding2IRC for more information.

  29. • Finally I have tracked down the DCC SEND bug!!!!!!!  I'm surprised it worked
  30.   at all - it should now work with any combination of computer and stack.

  32. • The version of DCC (Direct Client to Client) supports DCC SEND and DCC RECEIVE
  33.   - that is, you may allow other people to read, or read other people's files.
  34.   This introduces some security related issues - but if you are sensible you
  35.   won't come across these.  To send a file to somebody, simply drag it onto the
  36.   IRClient icon or window.  A bow will pop up prompting you for the recipient's
  37.   name.  Once you have pressed RETURN (or clicked on OK) the recipient will be
  38.   asked if he or she wants the file - if they do the file will be transferred
  39.   across.
  40.   Similarly, if someone wants to send you a file, a box will pop up allowing you
  41.   to drag it to a destination filer window as in a save box.  If you don't want
  42.   the file click on cancel.
