- Bin 1.00
- --------
-
- I finally recoded it into a module! It now has truly tiny memory requirements,
- and uses PinPatch (more releases using this to follow - once I have registered
- the appropriate stuff with Acorn). This bin program is not designed to have
- enormous numbers of features and a memory footprint to match, it is designed
- instead to be fast, memory efficient (so you poor people with 1Mb machines
- will have no trouble with this...) and useful. It does have one or two
- 'interesting' features, but they aren't loaded unless required.
-
- Before using this, copy it to a read/write area of your hard disc.
-
- Using it
- --------
-
- The first thing you'll need is Pinboard loaded. Sorry, PinPatch hasn't been
- tested with many other backdrop utilities as of yet (for example, it doesn't
- work at all with my own !BDrop - soon to be rectified...). Double clicking
- should now load the program. You can now drag files to the bin and watch them
- disappear. If you make a mistake, simply double click on the bin and drag the
- files right out again (turn 'Don't backup' off for this to work...)!
-
- Fun things (as suggested by those people on Arcade) can be had by using the
- 'Options' submenu (click the middle button over the bin, u fool). From
- here you can add some, er, interesting sound effects, have an animated bin,
- set it so it asks if you are sure, use outline fonts (not really necessary if
- you have a RISC PC...), delete all the files in the bin at startup, or set it
- so that it doesn't bother saving the files. Finally, you can change the name
- of the Bin to something else... (hours of fun can be had insulting your friends
- here...)
-
- The final bit is 'Empty Bin', which does exactly that.
-
- PinPatch stuff
- --------------
-
- Bin is a PinPatch utility. As it is the first, you won't know what this means
- (unless you had an older copy of bin, which worked in a similar way). Basically
- PinPatch removes the restrictions imposed by the icon bar... you can drag it
- off there and onto the Pinboard, and from there, back to the icon bar. Simple,
- really, but quite useful for those that fill their iconbars with junk...
