  4. Welcome to the SHAREWARE version of !ASM. This version is limited in
  5. several ways - the most notable being that you may only define 10 macros,
  6. the maximum total length of source code is 4000 lines and there is no
  7. support for the floating point instructions.

  9. The registered version has no such restrictions, plus a comprehensive
  10. reference manual, a Zap editing mode designed specifically for !ASM and
  11. will be slightly more up to date than any shareware distribution.

  13. License & disclaimer

  16. By running !ASM or any companion program, you indicate that you agree to be
  17. bound by these conditions. If you cannot agree, you must delete the
  18. software from your system.
  19.  
  20. The software (!ASM and all associated files, including this one) is 
  21. SHAREWARE. This means that if you intend to use it for an extended period,
  22. or to produce work for public release, you should register it. Registration
  23. costs £10, and can be achieved by sending a cheque or postal order to:

  32. For your money, you will get the latest version, and will be informed of
  33. any major updates when they become available (to which you can upgrade
  34. by sending your orignal disc and and SAE). The registered version has
  35. numerous extensions and is well worth while.

  37. YOU MAY NOT DISTRIBUTE ANY WORK ASSEMBLED ON THE SHAREWARE VERSION OF !ASM.
  38. THIS INCLUDES PUBLIC DOMAIN DISTRIBUTION AS WELL AS COMMERCIAL
  39. DISTRIBUTION. You may, however, freely distribute work created on the
  40. registered version of !ASM by any means you please.

  42. The author (of !ASM) cannot accept responsibility for the mis-function of
  43. any software created using it. This is obviously the concern of the author
  44. of that software.

  46. !ASM is Copyright © Andrew Hunter, 1996. However, you may distribute this
  47. ShareWare version so long as you ensure that all files remain intact and
  48. unaltered. If you suspect that your version has been tampered with, you
  49. can obtain a genuine copy by sending a blank disc with SAE to the address
  50. above. Any distributed version MUST have this file.

  52. You may not disassemble, reverse engineer or alter any of the programs
  53. contained within the !ASM directory at any time.

  55. This ShareWare version may not be sold as part of any commercial package,
  56. although PD libraries MAY distribute it so long as they comply with these
  57. conditions, and do not charge above a reasonable price for their 
  58. distribution (say, 3 pounds sterling).

  60. The registered version MUST NOT be distributed. You are permitted to make
  61. backup copies for your personal use, but it MAY NOT be installed on more
  62. than one machine at any one time.

  64. The author (Andrew Hunter) CANNOT accept responsibility for any damage 
  65. caused by your use/inability to use the software. You use the software
  66. entirely at your own risk. (That said, I doubt it could cause much damage).
