  1. Installing the new PC Card software
  2. -----------------------------------

  4. The new version of the PC Card software requires the use of an updated
  5. ARMDRV.DRV driver. In order to install this new driver, it will first be
  6. necessary to remove the existing ARMDRV.DRV driver and install the VGA 3.0
  7. driver. This can be achieved by running the Windows Setup application and
  8. choosing the 'Change System Settings' option.

  10. Once the VGA 3.0 video driver has been installed, quit Windows and the PC486
  11. application.

  13. Move the existing !PC486, !PCConfig applications and the Drivers directory
  14. to an area that will not be 'seen' by the filer when you next start your
  15. machine, preferably, to a floppy disc.

  17. Copy the new !PC486, !PCConfig and Drivers software onto your hard disc. Once
  18. this is done, reboot your machine.

  20. When the system has rebooted, run the new !PCConfig application and set the
  21. options you require. As some of the default configuration options and their
  22. format have changed, editing the config file in a text editor is NOT
  23. RECOMMENDED. In particular, the memory size is now quoted in megabytes and
  24. not kilobytes.

  26. Start the new !PC486 application and create an OEM setup disc as instructed
  27. in the Win_ReadMe file which can be found in the Drivers.Windows directory.

  29. Run Windows and start the Windows Setup application. Choose the 'Change
  30. System Settings' option and select the 'Other display (requires disk from
  31. OEM)...'.

  33. At this point, you will be prompted by Windows for the OEM setup disk. Follow
  34. the options to overwrite the existing ARMDRV.DRV driver. The next time you
  35. run Windows, the new ARMDRV.DRV driver will be used.
