- Linux 1.1.59+ ReadMe
- ====================
-
- Past
- ----
-
- A version of the linux kernel was released on the 1st July 1995. It
- unfortunately contained a bug in the scsi code.
-
- Present
- -------
-
- This is a bug-fixed 1.1.59+ binary and altered source distribution.
- Please see the COPYING details in this archive.
-
- Please copy the kernel 'kernel' to your !Linux directory, and if you use
- the boot loader, into your root partition as /vmlinux or whatever you call
- the kernel, and run the bootmap program to update the maps.
-
- Future
- ------
-
- I currently have Linux 1.2.3 compiled under linux itself and running,
- so installation and patches should be easier, as well as keeping up with
- the PC version. It should soon be able to be re-integrated back into
- the main stream distribution.
-
- Also, a better installation guide and setup will be created (possibly
- by someone else - hint!)
-
- A new version of bootmap and bootloader will be available with the new
- kernel, but unfortunately are incompatible with previous (1.1.59+)
- versions of the kernel.
-
- All bug reports to: rmk92@ecs.soton.ac.uk (Valid until July 1996), or
