  4. This program is Shareware.
  5. This means that you can copy this program to anyone you like, but if you
  6.    find the program useful, you should register, as explained below. This
  7.    entitles you to the latest version of this program, and of all my other
  8.    applications.
  9. If you do copy the program it should be in its original format, with ALL of

  20. Purpose
  21. -------
  22. A program to make backups of selected files/directories onto floppies,
  23. keeping more than one copy.
  24.  
  25.  
  26. To use
  27. ------
  28.    Firstly, you will need some blank, ADFS format disks. These need to be
  29. titled 'BackUp1', 'BackUp2' etc. (without the quotes) for as many disks as
  30. you wish to use (up to 9). Then load the program, by double-clicking on its
  31. icon in a filer window. This should install an icon on the icon bar. Then,
  32. set up the files and directories that you wish to make a back-up of. This is
  33. done by clicking menu (the middle mouse button) on the icon on the icon bar,
  34. and selecting 'Add file'. This should open a window. Now drag the file or
  35. directory you wish to add to the list into that window. Now click select on
  36. the icon 'Add, do save'. This will add the file to the list saved on disk.
  37. Do this for as many files as you wish to make back-ups of. Now set up the
  38. number of disks that you have. This is done by clicking menu on the middle
  39. mouse button, going up to 'No of disks', and across. Now type in the number
  40. of disks that you wish to use and press RETURN. Now, whenever you click
  41. select on the icon on the icon bar the program will copy the specified files
  42. and directories onto the next floppy.
  43.    Also, on the 'Add file' window, there is the possibility of temporarily
  44. adding a file to the list. This is done in the same way as before, but
  45. instead of selecting 'Add, do save', select 'Add, don't save'. Selecting
  46. 'Don't Add' will close the window without actually adding the file to the
  47. list, either permanently or temporarily.
  48.    To remove a file from the list, click menu on the icon on the icon bar,
  49. and select 'Remove file'. This will open a window listing all the files
  50. that are held in the list. Clicking select on any of the icons will remove
  51. that file from the list, and save the revised list to disk.
  52.    Also on the main menu, is the option to set the copy options. This window
  53. gives you three choices - Delete, Force, and Newer. Delete allows you the
  54. option of deleting the source after copy; Force allows you the choice of
  55. forcing overwriting of existing objects; and Newer allows you the choice of
  56. only copying the file if it is newer than the destination.
  57.    If a file is in the list, but cannot be found on the disk then it is
  58. simply skipped over.
