- Key Defining
- ------------
-
- This screens shows what keys are currently defined for the controlling the
- game. The 'Keyboard 1' column shows the control keys that should be used
- by the player using the keyboard. If both players are using the keyboard
- then Player 2 should use the keys shown in the 'Keyboard 2' column. The
- final column, headed 'Additional', shows the other assorted keys used by
- the game. The default settings for all these keys are shown below.
-
- To redefine the keys, press either '1', '2' or 'A' for the appropriate
- column, the old keys will be removed. Then simply press the keys you wish
- to use for each function. A check is made that duplicate keys are not
- used, so make sure each key press is shown on screen before continuing
- with the next definition. Alternatively you can use the mouse: to select a
- column to define, click on the column heading with the left mouse button,
- the keys can then be defined by clicking on their positions on the
- keyboard shown at the bottom of the screen with the left mouse button. (It
- is also possible to change individual key settings by clicking on the
- relevant line in the table at the top of the screen.)
-
- Pressing Escape on the keyboard or the middle mouse button will exit from
- the key definer.
-
- Default key settings:

- Left Z Key Pad 1
- Right X Key Pad 2
- Up ' Key Pad 3
- Down / Key Pad .
- Place Return Enter
-
- Fast Tab
- Pause P
- Quit Escape
- Sound Copy
-
- A note about sound: The Sound key controls the volume of the tune and game
- noises. Pressing it will cycle the volume between full, half and off.
-
-
- Mouse Scaling
- -------------
-
- This is used to define the physical area (i.e. of the table, desk or
- whatever) in which the mouse can move. To define ad area, simply follow
- the on-screen instructions. Defining a small area will mean that a little
- movement in the mouse will move the pointer or game cursor a lot, whilst a
- big area will allow for more precise positioning but you'll have to move
- the mouse a greater distance.
-
- Pressing Escape on the keyboard or the middle mouse button will exit from
- mouse scaling. Pressing 'R' or the right mouse button will reset the mouse
- area to it's default size.
-
-
- Level Jump
- ----------
-
- This is used to enter a password to jump forward in the game and start on
- a more advanced level. Passwords are given after certain levels and you
- should make a note of these so you don't have to start on level 1 every
- time.
-
-

- -------------------
-
- This is an additional feature available in the Archimedes version of
- PipeMania and is intended for PipeManiacs only! The main difference
- between it and Standard mode is in the scoring. The table below shows how
