Mary E. Kendall is an artist born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, whose practice involves work in three dimensional and mixed media, and paper and basket making.
Scope and content
The work consists of an assemblage in multiple media, including wood, found metal objects, rocks, plastic figures, and sand mixed with acrylic, entitled "And the band played on..." 1997.
Note
The artist stated: "I have a strong visual sense and am adept at putting objects and colours together in a 3 dimensional situation. I am a great collector, on the beach, in the forest, and on the street, and I love arranging everything together to suit my artistic eye and sense of humour. I had my stint at saving the world as a social worker, and now I am enjoying myself as an artist."
