Paul de Guzman Sia is a mixed media artist and PC specialist born in 1965 in Manila, the Philippines. He studied electronics and communications.
Scope and content
The collection consists of various textual material and objects assembled and listed by the artist under the title "Evidence in an investigation (clues to an artistic sensibility)," including a memory chip (denoted by de Guzman Sia as Exhibit E), four wood alphabet blocks (Exhibit F), letter 'P' (Exhibit F1), letter 'A' (Exhibit F2), letter 'U' (Exhibit F3), letter 'L' (Exhibit F4), a disposable camera (Exhibit G), three slides (Exhibit C1), a Wallace Stevens poem (Exhibit C3), three Indonesian coins (Exhibit C2) in PCMCIA transparent plastic cases, three faxes on bond paper to the curators of 'Browser' (Exhibit H), various additional papers comprising six items (Exhibit D), a wine bottle (Exhibit A), a dark grey brick 4 7/8 x 4 1/4 x 2 1/2 inches (Exhibit B), and forty-two mints; each item being enclosed in a plastic ziploc bag.
Note
The artist stated that he collected his work over a span of three years from 1994-1997.
