-
- APL90 Version 1.05 of March 1987 for Macintosh is distributed free of charge provided you
- do not use it for commercial purposes (personal, research or education use is ok). This
- version is available on either a single HSF 800k or two MFS 400k disks. The distribution
- package includes 95 files and folders. When distributing APL 90, no change should be made
- to the number or the contents of these files, and no charge should be asked, except maybe a
- fair evaluation of the cost of duplicating, handling and shipping.

-
-
-
- To read the manual
-
-
-
- You need to install in your system the APL character set that is used in the manual. This can
- be done using the font provided on the distribution disk, and the Font/da mover utility that
- can be found on the standard system disk. This font is intended for use with MacWrite or
- similar products. It is not the font used by APL 90, and you don't have to install this font in
- your system to use APL 90. You will also need the “Times” character set, which is available
- on standard system disks, and provides a correct output on Laserwriter.
-
-
-
-
- To run APL 90
-
-
-
- First, make a back-up of the distribution disk. Also, let's notice that it is probably a good
- idea to read the manual before trying to use APL 90.
-
-
- You need at least one user virtual memory to run the interpreter. You must install the
- interpreter and the file MEMSYS inside the same folder (never open MEMSYS). You
- need at least 16k on the disk containing the interpreter, therefore, if you are using 400k
- disks, make a copy of this disk and keep only APL90 and MEMSYS.
-
-
- User's virtual memories can be kept in different disks. The virtual memory you are working
- with should not be write protected. To work with a virtual memory, just double-click it. You
- can also run the interpreter, then open the virtual memory. An example of virtual memory,
- KEYB, is provided.
