  8.        IBM 4029 LaserPrinter PPDS Driver for Microsoft Windows 3.0 & 3.1
  9.        -----------------------------------------------------------------

  15.        In addition to this README.1ST file you should also have the
  16.        following files:

  18.                       IBM4029.DRV         91360 bytes
  19.                       GENDRV.DLL          99328 bytes
  20.                       OEMSETUP.INF          484 bytes
  21.                       SF4019.EXE          58800 bytes

  23.         To Install:
  24.  
  25.         1.  Start Windows and Double-click the Main window.
  26.  
  27.         2.  Double-click on the Control Panel icon.
  28.  
  29.         3.  At the Control Panel, Double-click the Printers icon.  The
  30.             Printers dialog box will appear.
  31.  
  32.         4.  If installing the new driver in Windows 3.0 proceed to Step 5.
  33.             If installing in Windows 3.1 go to Step 13.

  35.         5.  At the Printers dialog box, Click on Add Printer.  A List of
  36.             Printers will appear.  Scroll to the bottom of the list and
  37.             Select Unlisted Printer.  Click on Install.
  38.  
  39.         6.  You will be at the Add Unlisted Printer dialog box.  In the
  40.             Driver Name field enter the drive (and path) that contains the
  41.             new driver files (examples - a:\*.drv or c:\(path)\*.drv).
  42.             Click OK.  In the Driver Files box select the Driver ibm4029.drv
  43.             by Positioning the mouse and Double-clicking.

  45.         7.  The printer name IBM 4029 LaserPrinter on None, Inactive will be
  46.             highlighted in the Installed Printers box.

  48.         8.  Click on Configure.
  49.  
  50.         9.  At the Printers-Configure dialog box, Select the appropriate
  51.             printer port (normally LPT1:) and Click on Setup.

  53.        10.  The printer setup box IBM 4029 LaserPrinter will appear and
  54.             allow you to select various printer attributes such as graphics
  55.             resolution, paper source, and paper size.  Acknowledge your
  56.             choices by Clicking on OK.

  58.        11.  This will return you to the Printers - Configure dialog box.
  59.             Click on OK.

  67.        12.  You will return to the Printers dialog box.  Here you may make
  68.             your IBM 4029 the currently active printer by Clicking on Active
  69.             under the Status option.  Click on OK to return to the Control
  70.             Panel.  Installation of your new driver in Windows 3.0 is
  71.             complete.

  73.             NOTE:  The remaining steps are for Windows 3.1 only.

  75.        13.  At the Printers dialog box, Click on the Add button.  A List of
  76.             Printers will appear.  Highlight Install Unlisted or Updated
  77.             Printer and Click on the Install button.

  79.        14.  The Install Driver dialog box will appear.  Enter the drive
  80.             (and path) where the new driver files are located (examples -
  81.             a:\ or c:\(path)\).  Click on the OK button.

  83.        15.  The Add Unlisted or Updated Printer dialog box will appear with
  84.             a List of Printers box.  Highlight IBM LaserPrinter 4029 and
  85.             Click on the OK button.

  87.        16.  The IBM LaserPrinter 4029 will show up in the Installed Printers
  88.             box.  Highlight the IBM LaserPrinter 4029 and Click on the
  89.             Connect button.  The Connect dialog box will appear.  Highlight
  90.             the appropriate printer port (normally LPT1:) and Click on the
  91.             OK button.  You will return to the Printers dialog box.

  93.        17.  Click on the Setup button.  The IBM LaserPrinter 4029 setup box
  94.             will appear.  At this box you may select various printer
  95.             attributes such as graphics resolution, paper source, and paper
  96.             size.  Acknowledge your choices by Clicking on OK.  You will
  97.             return to the Printers dialog box.

  99.        18.  If you wish to make your IBM 4029 the currently active printer,
  100.             Click on the Set As Default Printer button.  Click on the Close
  101.             button.  You will return to the Control Panel.  Installation of
  102.             your new driver in Windows 3.1 is complete.
