- USER'S GUIDE

- A. Installation
-
- 1. Copy 'MENULOAD.EXE' and 'ALML.DLL' to your hard disk under the
- same directory, (for example, C:\MENULOAD).
-
- 2.1 To install MenuLoad so it will be automatically loaded upon Windows
- started by modifying WIN.INI.
-
- a. Load WIN.INI with your favorite editor or Windows' SysEdit.
- b. You will find a key named "load=" under [windows] application
- name. Add MenuLoad with full path name to that key. For example,
- "load=c:\menuload\menuload.exe"
- If "load=" is used by other application, then you can use Allty's
- WinStart to load more than one application during Windows start
- up. For more information see 2.2 for information.
- c. Start your Windows and MenuLoad will be automatically loaded.

- 2.2 To install MenuLoad so it will be automatically loaded upon Windows
- started by using ALLTY's WinStart utility.

- a. Run Windows first.
- b. Start your ALLTY WinStart Installer (WSINST.EXE) under Windows.
- c. Select 'Setup' in WsInst. You can add more application entries in
- Setup dialog box.
- d. See WinStart user's guide on how to install MenuLoad as one
- application entry to be loaded upon Windows start up.
- e. Exit Windows and run Windows again, MenuLoad will be loaded
- automatically by WinStart.

- If you don't have WinStart, read text file 'ALLTY.TXT' for
- information on how to get it from us.

- 2.3 To run MenuLoad upon you request it.
-
- a. Run Windows first.
- b. Use Program Manager 'Run' to start MenuLoad.

- B. After Starting MenuLoad
-
- After MenuLoad is running, you will see a small triangle mark (Allty
- mark) on Program Manager's menu bar. The first 6 items under this
- menu name are those system applications available from Program Manger's
- Main folder. These are fixed in the MenuLoad menu and you can't change
- them.

- C. Add A New Application Entry to MenuLoad
-
- 1. To configure new applications, select 'Configure...', 'Add Entry...'
- from the Allty mark.
-
- 2. A dialog box will pop up, you can specify the application name in
- the Description edit box and give the full path of the application
- in the Command Line edit box.

- 3. You also can use 'Browse' function to locate the application. By click
- on 'Browse' button, another dialog box will pop up. Use this to locate
- the application you want to add.

- 4. You will find step 2 and 3 pretty familiar if you ever add a new
- item to Program Manager.

- After you add an application entry, the Description part will be
- displayed as a menu item under menu bar Allty mark. You can select
- it and MenuLoad will load the application for you.

- There is a maximum 16 application entries limit for MenuLoad.

- D. Remove An Application Entry
-
- 1. You can remove an existing application entry by selecting
- 'Configure...', 'Delete Entry...'.
-
- 2. A dialog box will pop up and you can select an application entry to
- be removed. Only the Description of the application will be displayed.

- 3. After select an application entry, click on the 'Delete' button.
-
- 4. You will be confirmed for deleting an entry you selected.

- E. Configure As Submenu
-
- 1. You can change the way Allty mark pull down menu's look by selecting
- 'Configure...', 'As Submenu'.
-
- 2. The list of application entries can be arranged in two way, one is
- all the application entries are menu items under menu name Allty mark
- and another way is all the application entries are in a cascading
- menu under a menu item 'Run Entry...'.

- 3. A check mark will be placed or removed from 'As Submenu' menu item
- as an indication of toggle status.

- F. Exit MenuLoad

- 1. In any case you want to exit MenuLoad but not Windows you can
- select 'Configure...', 'Exit Menuload...'.

- 2. You will be confirmed for exiting.
