  1. LAUNCHMD is a Win3 program that solves the problem of trying
  2. to open multiple Excel or Winword documents by double-clicking
  3. on the .XLS or .DOC files from the File Manager.  Without LAUNCHMD,
  4. double-clicking the second Excel file will open a second instance
  5. of Excel; and Winword won't run a second instance.  The preferred
  6. action is to open the document as a second window within the same
  7. instance.  File...Associate your spreadsheet and winword document
  8. files to LAUNCHMD and you'll have a better launcher.

  11. Installation Proceures:

  13. Copy LAUNCHMD.EXE to your Windows directory or in a
  14. sub-directory that is in your PATH statement.

  16. From the File Manager, use File... Associate to associate
  17. .XLS, .XLC, .XLW, .XLM, .DOC, and .DOT to LAUNCHMD.EXE
  18.  
  19. Make sure Excel and Winword are in your PATH statement.

  21. The next time you double-click on a spreadsheet or document
  22. file in the File Manager window, Excel or Winword will open the
  23. document as a window -- just as you would from File... Open.

  25. You can also drag the .XLS or .DOC files to a Program Manager
  26. group and change the icon to point to excel.exe or winword.exe.
