  13. What is DBTN.EXE?
  14. DBTN.EXE (D'Button) is a small FREE(!) program that allows you to
  15. configure two buttons to start programs of your choice.  In addition,
  16. you can supply data to the program you are starting.

  20. DBTN.EXE can be freely distributed as long as there is no charge for it.
  21. When distributed, the following UNMODIFIED FILES must be 
  22. included: DBTN.EXE, DBTN.WRI and DBTN.TXT.

  24. It must also be noted, DBTN.EXE is provided "AS IS". That is, without 
  25. warranty of any kind, expressed or implied.

  28. Whats New:
  29. Version 1.0.f was the initial release of this program.  You are
  30. limited to two buttons in this version.  Also, the program does not
  31. verify the program name until the button is selected.
  32.  
  33. Version 1.1.f includes minor dialog box updates. That is, you can now
  34. enter longer program names and data.
  35.  
  36. Version 1.2.f includes:
  37.    1) Expanded error messages when D'Button cannot start a program.
  38.    2) Fixes to help Windows find the program to run.

  40. How to start:
  41. You can start DBTN.EXE in the customary Windows methods.  These include,
  42. File Manager, adding the program to an existing group, etc.

  45. What does it do after it has started?
  46. DBTN.EXE will load and then appear as a small Window on your desktop ready
  47. for use.

  49. To configure D'Button:
  50.  
  51.           1) Use the mouse pointer and click on the "D'Button"
  52.              button

  54.           2) Use the 'accelerator' keys to select the "D'Button"
  55.              button

  57.           3) Use the system menu to select the configure option
  58.

  60.              Then a dialog box will appear that allows you to 
  61.              specify:

  63.                   Name: The name that will appear in the button.
  64.  
  65.                Program: The program name to start. Include any path
  66.                         statement as/if required.
  67.  
  68.                   Data: Any additional data to supply to the program.
  69.  
  70.              If you then select 'OK', the information will be written
  71.              to a file called DBTN.INI.
