  4. The included files are updated graphic filters that correct certain
  5. problems that may occur when using the graphics filters shipped with
  6. Word for Windows versions 1.1a and earlier. Below is a list of the
  7. replacement graphics filters:

  31.     Removes the 64K maximum graphics file size limitation on the
  32.     importation of Windows metafile graphics that existed with the WMF
  33.     filter shipped with Word for Windows 1.1a and earlier.

  35. Installing the Replacement Graphics Filters
  36. -------------------------------------------

  38. The following are steps to install the updated graphics filters for
  39. Word for Windows. It is assumed that Word for Windows has been
  40. installed on your hard disk and that the graphics filters in question
  41. have also been previously installed in the same directory as Word for
  42. Windows. To install the replacement graphics filters, do the
  43. following:
  44.  
  45. 1. Exit Windows and use the PKUNZIP.EXE program to unzip the
  46.    downloaded file.
  47.  
  48. 3. Once unzipped, copy all of the files to your WINWORD program
  49.    directory (i.e. COPY *.FLT C:\WINWORD).

  51. The new graphics filters have now been installed. Start Windows, start
  52. Word for Windows, and use the Picture command on the Insert menu to
  53. insert TIFF, PCX, WMF, or EPS images.
  54.  
  55.    Note: If you need to revert to the previous filters, you must rerun
  56.    the Word for Windows Setup program. To do this:
  57.  
  58.    1. Exit Windows.
  59.  
  60.    2. Insert the Word for Windows Setup disk in the floppy-disk drive.
  61.       Make drive A active by typing a: and pressing enter. Type setup
  62.       and press enter.
  63.  
  64.    3. When prompted for a directory, choose the same drive and
  65.       directory where Word for Windows is currently installed, for
  66.       example, C:\WINWORD. You will then be asked whether Setup should
  67.       overwrite existing files. Choose to skip the overwriting of
  68.       existing files (if you choose to overwrite existing files, a
  69.       full installation of the program will be done).

  71.    4. When prompted to install graphics filters, choose Yes. Choose
  72.       the graphics filter(s) from the list provided and continue with
  73.       Setup.
  74.  
  75. In addition to the graphics filters residing in the Word for Windows
  76. program directory, the following information is added to the WIN.INI
  77. file during installation (the following example will vary depending
  78. upon the number of graphics filters installed):
