- OS/2 2.0 Fix
- (as supplied by Bernie Thompson, IBM Boca)
-
- Applies to OS/2 2.0 CSD level 02000 ONLY (the initial retail release).
-
- In this package is a replacement VSVGA.SYS file. This file is located in
- \OS2\MDOS. RENAME the previous VSVGA.SYS file to VSVGA.BAK, and copy this
- new VSVGA.SYS file in its place.
-
- While this replacement VSVGA.SYS file will work on any system, it is
- specifically designed to fix a problem involving SuperVGA adapters
- with the Tseng Labs ET4000 (batch number TC6059AF or higher) chipset.
- On these adapters entering a full screen DOS or Win-OS/2 session will
- cause the display to lose sync. This replacement VSVGA.SYS file remedies
- that problem.
-
- Dale Whitfield at IBM Boca, in working with Tseng Labs, came up with this
- fix. The fixed VSVGA.SYS file is 64472 bytes in length.
