- CF USER NOTES
- =============
-
-
-
- In common with most software, the best way to learn about CF is to "play"
- with it. To get started, I suggest that you merely unpack CF.ZIP file into a
- temporary directory and RUN it. The file CFTUTOR.ZIP contains a number of
- directory listings (that is, .CF files) and a .DOC file that contains some
- examples of what CF can do. However, there are no files in CFTUTOR.ZIP that
- are NECESSARY to use CF.
-
- In order for to CF to work, you only NEED CF.EXE, but if the configuration
- file, CF.INI, isn't present in the start-up directory (that is, the directory
- that contains CF.EXE), a warning will be displayed and a default
- configuration used.
-
- In order to view and edit files, CF uses EXTERNAL programs and these are
- specified in CF.INI. In particular, CF uses these external programs to
- display it's HELP. If CF.INI is missing or incorrect, you may not be able to
- display the help at all. However, you can still copy CF.HLP and CF.DOC to
- CON:, or otherwise view them, since they are all plain ASCII text.
-
-
-
- FILES IN CF.ZIP
- ---------------
-
- CF.DOC Documentation. (Also used as the "large" help file.)
-
- CFHIST.DOC Chronological list of changes to CF. (Look at the END of the
- file for the latest modifications.)
-
- READ-ME.DOC THIS file...
-
- CF.EXE Executable file.
-
- CFLIST.EXE A very noddy list program that will be used by CF to view
- files if nothing else is available.
-
- CF.HLP The "small" help file.
-
- CF.INI An example configuration file.
