  6. KarmaToolTypes is another one of those "edit your tooltypes using your
  7. favourite text editor" programmes. What makes KarmaToolTypes different,
  8. is that it uses notification and an appmenuitem.

  10. When started, KarmaToolTypes will add an AppMenuItem to your "Tools"
  11. menu. KarmaToolTypes reads two tooltypes from it's icon. They are
  12. EDITOR and SORT. EDITOR specifies which text editor you wish to use
  13. to edit the tooltypes. If none is specified, KarmaToolTypes will
  14. default to "Ed". The syntax for EDITOR is EDTOR=<editorname>.
  15. SORT decides wheter or not KarmaToolTypes should sort the tooltypes
  16. alphabetically before sending them to the texteditor. The syntax
  17. for SORT is SORT=<Yes/No>. SORT defaults to No.

  19. Knowing this, you are ready to use KarmaToolTypes. Select an icon
  20. and chooes KarmaToolTypes from the Tools menu. If all goes the way
  21. it should, your defined text editor will pop up with all the tooltypes
  22. from the icon you selected. Ready for you to edit.

  24. When you are finished editing, save the file. KarmaToolTypes will
  25. automatically register this, and save the new tooltypes to the icon.
  26. Unlike other tooltype editors out there, KarmaToolTypes does not rely
  27. on your text editor not detatching itself to find out when you quit
  28. it. KarmaToolTypes adds notification to the file containing the icon's
  29. tooltypes, and when the file is changed, KarmaToolTypes automatically
  30. registers this.

  32. If you do not want to change the tooltypes, you can either save them
  33. the way they are, or just quit the text editor. You can safely select
  34. another icon to edit instead. KarmaToolTypes will drop the notification
  35. on the old icon and forget all about it, no harm done.

  37. To quit KarmaToolTypes, you must send it a ^C signal.

  42. I do not feel KarmaToolTypes is worth any money. Nor are any of the
  43. other programmes out there that do the same thing :)    If you like

  46. KarmaToolTypes was tested for 30 seconds on my A4000/040. I do not
  47. know of any bugs, but should you find any, please EMail me and tell
  48. me how I can reproduse them.
