- Pine
-
- Pine is a Unix program that automates email handling chores. It
- is menu driven and most commands require only a simple keystroke.
- Sub-menu commands often require a control-key sequence, meaning
- that you should hold down the control key (the one labeled
- Ctrl) and press a letter key. The symbol ^ is used as an
- abbreviation for the control key.
-
- Pine supports MIME (Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions), which
- means you can attach binary files (computer programs, compressed
- files, graphics, multimedia files) to your email and mail them to
- someone else who has an email program that supports MIME. Normal
- Unix mail or xmail does not support MIME.
