  1.     INSTALLATION:

  3. To install this ByteSize CD-ROM, Inc. software, insert the CD
  4. into your CD-ROM drive. If AUTOPLAY is enabled, the installation of
  5. required DLLs and other system files will begin automatically.
  6. This process may take a moment the first time the CD is run. To make 
  7. CDs play automatically when inserted in the CD drive, open the 
  8. System Properties dialog box at the Device Manager tab. Click the plus 
  9. sign next to CDROM, right-click the device you want to use, and then 
  10. click Properties. Click the Settings tab. Select the Auto insert 
  11. notification check box. You can also open the System Properties dialog 
  12. box by clicking Start, pointing to Settings, clicking Control Panel, and 
  13. then double-clicking System. This setting applies to all CDs, including 
  14. games, multimedia, and audio CDs. To prevent CDs from playing 
  15. automatically, click to clear the Auto insert notification check box. 
  16. You can also press the SHIFT key while inserting a CD to stop it from 
  17. playing automatically.

  19. If you do not have AUTOPLAY enabled, double-click on My Computer, 
  20. then double-click on your CD-ROM drive. Then double-click "INSTAL1.BAT."
  21. This automatically copies the system files and runs BYTESIZE.EXE - 
  22. the CD-ROM interface. 
  23.  
  24. TROUBLESHOOTING:
  25.  
  26. In order to successfully install the system files required, please make
  27. sure you have no other programs running. If you encounter an error during
  28. installation, there may be a conflict with a DLL which is running. Reboot
  29. your computer and press the "SHIFT" key AND HOLD IT down while Windows is 
  30. loading to prevent the startup programs from loading. Then eject the
  31. CD-ROM and reinsert it - or double-click on the file "INSTAL1.BAT."
  32.  
  33. If you still encounter an error, reboot the machine and try the above
  34. procedure again. If you still receive an error message, you can use the 
  35. following procedure to install the system files. 
  36.  
  37. Reboot your computer and press the "SHIFT" key AND HOLD IT down while 
  38. Windows is loading to prevent the startup programs from loading. Then 
  39. double-click on My Computer, then double-click on your CD-ROM drive. 
  40. Then double-click "VBRUN60.EXE." After this program has finished (usually 
  41. about 60 seconds), double-click on "INSTAL1.BAT" This should ensure that 
  42. your system is configured properly.

  44. Once this process is complete, reboot your PC and make sure the CD-ROM 
  45. is in the drive when Windows restarts. If you do not have AUTOPLAY enabled,
  46. double-click on "BYTESIZE.EXE" on the CD-ROM.
