- Posting a PostScript or RTF document to Gopher
-
- There are two steps to posting a PostScript or RTF document to Bucknell's
- Gopher server:
-
- 1. Creating the PostScript or Interchange Format (RTF) file
- 2. Mailing the PostScript or RTF file to Gopherman with Eudora
-
- Preparing the formatted versions
-
- Use Microsoft Word to open the file containing the current document. It is
- likely that you will want to create both PostScript and RTF versions of
- your document. To create a PostScript file, use Print from the File menu
- or hold down the command and P keys. Click the File radio button, click
- Okay or Save, pick a name like formatted.ps and then click the Save button.
-
- To create an RTF formatted document, select Save As... from the File menu.
- Type in a filename, such as formatted.rtf, and select Interchange Format
- (RTF) from the Save File as Type popup menu. Click the Save button or hit
- the return key. The file is now ready to go to gopherman.
-
-
- Mailing the document to Gopherman
-
- Launch Eudora and create a new message using New Message from the Message
- menu or by holding down the command and N keys together. Fill in the
- information necessary to send your document to Gopher:
-
- To: gopherman@bucknell.edu
- Subject: doc-ident FORM PS
- or Subject: doc-ident FORM RTF
-
- Next, select Attach Document from the Message menu or hold down the
- command and H keys together. Use the resulting dialog box to select the
- PostScript or RTF document you prepared earlier with Word. Uncheck the
- signature and wordwrap icons at the top of the window. Click Eudora's Send
- button and the document will be on its way to Gopher. If you are sending
- multiple formats, repeat the above steps with a new message for each
- format.
