  38. Some of you may have noticed that I managed to get the numbering wrong
  39. again :-(  Sorry.  Guess it's not true that everything I needed to know
  40. I learned in kindergarten ;-)

  42. Anyway, there was no #20 and there were two #21s.

  44. 2) What are these "Cook Your Gopher" sessions?

  46. I've recently mailed out three "How to cook your xxx client" sessions and
  47. one "How to cook your xxx server" session (two more will follow tomorrow).

  51. The server is the piece of software that has some information or knows
  52. about some service.
  53.  
  54. The client is the piece of software that knows how to talk to the server,
  55. request the information and display it for you.

  61. These sessions are mainly of interest to system people.  They provide
  62. details on how to obtain and install the gopher software.

  67. The list is also gatewayed into the bit.listserv.gophern USENET News
  68. group.  If you have access to News, we encourage you to unsubscribe from
  69. this list and read the sessions via news (this would save network traffic
  70. and CPU time on various machines).  To unsubscribe, send e-mail to
  71. listserv@ubvm.cc.buffalo.edu with the following command as the first (and
  72. only) line in the body of the message:
