  43. The bottom of the Gopher menu has options from which you can choose.  Help
  44. can be selected by pressing the PF1 key from most points in Gopher. Here is the
  45. help screen:

  49.  CMS Gopher - Viewing Directories

  51.  You are presented with a menu of items.  These may be files, directories
  52.  of files, links to other Gopher servers, or other special functions.
  53.  To "open" an item, place your cursor on or under the item then press <ENTER>.

  55.  Before each item is symbolic text explaining what type of item it is:

  57.          <document>  (nothing), this item is a plain-text file
  58.          <menu>      this item leads to another directory or Gopher
  59.          <phonebk>   this item leads to a CSO/qi Phonebook search
  60.          <search>    this item leads to a keyword search
  61.          <telnet>    this item represents a telnet session
  62.          <picture>   this item is a graphic
  63.                      (requires a grphics terminal to view)
  64.          <binary>    this item is a "binary" file
  65.                      (not interesting to view,  but downloadable)

  70.          PF1         help (gives you this screen)
  71.          PF2         select an item (same as ENTER)
  72.          PF3         go back to previous menu (if any)
  73.          PF6         find particular string within the menu
  74.          PF7         Scroll UP in the menu
  75.          PF8         Scroll DOWN in the menu
  76.          PF9         set a BOOKMARK on this panel
  77.                      (or delete the BOOKMARK at the cursor
  78.                      if you're viewing your bookmark list)
  79.          PF10        go to the BOOKMARK list/select panel
  80.          PF12        quit completely

  84. This quick Gopher on-line help comes in handy when you forget how to move
  85. around "Gopherspace".  There are a few other things to note in help.
  86. Information on how to create a bookmark is useful and we'll be creating
  87. bookmarks later in this course.  Also, information on how to quit and how to
  88. search for an item is given.
  89.  
  90. This help screen goes beyond a computer one screen of information. When
  91. that happens you can use the PF8 key to get the next screen of information.
  92. When you get to the end of the document you must press the PF3 key to quit
  93. the HELP utility and return to Gopher.
