- How to use Unix elm to browse my FAQ files
- -------------------------------------------
-
- You can read both Timo's Frequently Asked Questions collections
- (tsfaqn*.zip and tsfaqp*.zip) also using Unix elm program. The elm
- version I have last used for testing this method was [ELM 2.4 PL21].
- To utilize this possibility, act for example as follows on your
- Unix host. First get the unzip program for Unix. (At Garbo see the
- /unix/arcers directory for the Unix versions or the archiver
- programs). Then extract the text files from e.g. tsfaqn38.zip (or
- whatever later version you may have) using
- unzip -a tsfaqn38.zip
- to get proper Unix eolns (end of lines). Next apply, for example
- elm -f faqnews.txt
- to read this particular file with elm. The same applies, respective,
- if you have the Turbo Pascal Frequently Asked Questions set
- tsfaqp*.zip.
- The Frequently Asked Questions files can still also be read as
- ordinary ascii text files, or by Jeroen Schipper's excellent
- ReadMail (see readmail.inf) on a PC.
