  1. Welcome to The Atomic Age.  Please read this document as it contains the  
  2. final update on installation and running tips that will greatly enhance your  
  3. enjoyment of this new CD-ROM title.

  5. About this Hybrid CD-ROM 
  6. ------------------------- 
  7. The Atomic Age is a hybrid CD that works on both the Macintosh and IBM- 
  8. compatible platforms. The Quicktime 2.0 software allows just one set of movie files to play back on both  
  9. platforms.  
  10.  
  11. Installation on the Macintosh 
  12. ------------------------------ 
  13. The Atomic Age needs QuickTime 2.0 or later installed to run properly. The  
  14. latest copy of QuickTime has been included on the CD. If you do not have  
  15. QuickTime 2.0 installed on your Macintosh, simply drag it onto your System  
  16. Folder and reboot. Also included is the Apple Multimedia Tuner. Place this  
  17. file in your System Folder. If you have a Power Macintosh, drag the  
  18. PowerPlug onto your System Folder icon and then restart your Macintosh.

  20. You must have System 7 or greater to run this disc. You must have an 8 or  
  21. greater bit color display to run the software. Check your color display  
  22. by going to the Control Panel and selecting Monitors.

  24. Installation on the PC 
  25. ----------------------- 
  26. The Atomic Age needs QuickTime 2.0 for Windows or later installed to run  
  27. properly. The latest copy of QuickTime has been included on the CD by the  
  28. installer program. Select Run╔ from the File menu in the Program Manager.   
  29. Type x: SETUP, (where x is your CD-ROM drive), and press Enter. Setup will  
  30. install QuickTime for Windows 2.0 on your hard drive. A new program  
  31. group will be created in Program Manager called Atomic Age.

  33. You must have Windows 3.1 or later to run this disc. You must have an 8 or  
  34. 24 bit color display to run the software.  
  35.  
  36. For optimal performance  
  37. ----------------------- 
  38. If you have 2.5 megabyte of free hard disk space, copy the Atomic Age  
  39. application icon onto your hard drive.  Do not run any other programs while  
  40. running Atomic Age. For better performance on the Macintosh turn file  
  41. sharing off, turn "Calculate Folders Size Off" in the Views Control Panel  
  42. and do not use Virtual Memory.
