  8.     Every week, in my real job, I
  9. research, write, prepare, and present
  10. an eighteen minute sermon. I write it
  11. all down (eight hand-written notebook
  12. pages), memorize it, and preach
  13. without notes.

  15.     Therefore, I have a certain
  16. short-term memory buffer in my head,
  17. which is fairly well wiped clean every
  18. Sunday afternoon. I tell you all of
  19. this because one of our loyal
  20. LOADSTARites called a couple of weeks
  21. ago -- and I can't remember his name!
  22.  
  23.     Sorry! I must have stored that
  24. information -- along with where I put
  25. the scrap of paper I on which I wrote
  26. it -- in that short-term memory
  27. buffer! However, two important bits of
  28. our phone conversation survived the
  29. memory purge:

  31.   1. This person was renewing his
  32.      subscription and needed our
  33.      address.
  34.  
  35.   2. His first C-64 came to him from a
  36.      young relative who beat it to
  37.      death playing Frantic Freddie!
  38.  
  39.     So I got online and visited
  40. www.c64.com -- an amazing site with
  41. hundreds of C-64 games available for
  42. downloading. Frantic Freddie was
  43. there, so I downloaded.
  44.  
  45.     Fred bears a resemblance to Under
  46. the Tenement or Loderunner. The object
  47. is to Grab and Run! After a number of
  48. fatal errors (I need a new joystick) I
  49. fully understand why this game led to
  50. the destruction of a C-64.
  51.  
  52.     So, LOADSTAR hereby refuses to
  53. accept any responsibility for any
  54. physical damage you may cause your
  55. machine while in an addictive frenzy!
