- Program by Joe Garrett

- You probably remember "type in"
- programs published in the late, great
- paper journals of C=dom. They were a
- real pain for everyone involved. The
- publishers had to have absolutely typo
- free copy. The programmers were
- limited to 10 or 12 Kilobytes. And the
- user had to make sure not to insert
- typos.
-
- Early on, LOADSTAR became the disk
- companion to Power Play and Commodore
- magazines, and published ready-to-run
- type in programs. Sometimes, the
- LOADSTAR staff would do a little
- tweaking. But in essence, these were
- short, simple programs.
-
- And even so, games like Wormshot
- offer some great entertainment. This
- program happened to fit in the left-
- over space on side 4. So it is just an
- extra. As you play, remember how far
- we have come in 18 years!
