  8.     You probably remember "type in"
  9. programs published in the late, great
  10. paper journals of C=dom. They were a
  11. real pain for everyone involved. The
  12. publishers had to have absolutely typo
  13. free copy. The programmers were
  14. limited to 10 or 12 Kilobytes. And the
  15. user had to make sure not to insert
  16. typos.

  18.     Early on, LOADSTAR became the disk
  19. companion to Power Play and Commodore
  20. magazines, and published ready-to-run
  21. type in programs. Sometimes, the
  22. LOADSTAR staff would do a little
  23. tweaking. But in essence, these were
  24. short, simple programs.
  25.  
  26.     And even so, games like Wormshot
  27. offer some great entertainment. This
  28. program happened to fit in the left-
  29. over space on side 4. So it is just an
  30. extra. As you play, remember how far
  31. we have come in 18 years!
