  2.        THE LOADSTAR HOME TOWER

  6.     When you receive this issue, the
  7. LOADSTAR Home Tower is officially
  8. ready for orders! We have worked like
  9. crazy to get this product up and
  10. running throughout the summer -- and
  11. we are ready to Rock and Roll!
  12.  
  13.     There are two ways to get a Home
  14. Tower.
  15.  
  16.  1) Get the whole kit and cabootal
  17. from us:
  18.  
  19.     * PC Tower (the hardware) with
  20.        At least 2 Gigabytes Hard Drive
  21.        CD-ROM drive
  22.        3.5 inch Floppy Disk Drive
  23.        and Plenty of RAM
  24.  
  25.     * A XE1541 Cable
  26.  
  27.     * 64HDD (the PC software)
  28.  
  29.     * 64HDriver (the C= software)
  30.  
  31.     * The COMPLEAT LOADSTAR CD-ROM
  32.  
  33.  all loaded, configured, tested and
  34. ready to use. Just plug it to your
  35. C-64/128's Serial chain and you are
  36. ready to go.

  38.  The price is $200 plus Shipping and
  39. Handling. Send a $50 deposit. We will
  40. call you with the shipping cost.
  41. Please allow 6 weeks for delivery.

  44.  2) Get the small stuff from us:
  45.  
  46.     * The XE1541 Cable
  47.  
  48.     * 64HDD (the PC software)
  49.  
  50.     * 64HDriver (the C= software)
  51.  
  52.     * The COMPLEAT LOADSTAR CD-ROM
  53.  
  54.     * A fully automated Boot Disk
  55.  
  56.  You will need to find/use your own
  57. PC, which must have at least 1 Gig of
  58. Hard Drive space, a 3.5 inch Floppy
  59. Disk Drive, and a CD-ROM Drive.

  61.  You will then connect the cable, put
  62. the CD-ROM in the Drive, put the Boot
  63. Disk in the 3.5 inch drive, and power
  64. up the PC. In a bit, you will hear a
  65. beep. Remove the 3.5 inch disk and
  66. reset the PC. You are ready to go!

  68.  The price for the Home Tower Software
  69. Kit is $65, which includes S/H. If you
  70. have an XE1541 Cable, the Software
  71. Only is just $50, including S/H.

  73.  Note: Some PC's will need an X1541
  74. Cable. If you get the cable from us,
  75. we will gladly swap with you if
  76. necessary.

  79.     As you can see, if you want a
  80. worry-free, already configured and
  81. tested device, we are glad to do it
  82. for you. If you have a PC or can get
  83. one on the cheap (get a 80486 66 Mhz
  84. or better processor, with MS-DOS
  85. installed), then you can save some
  86. bucks. Putting together LOADSTAR Home
  87. Towers could be a good project for
  88. clubs or individuals in large market
  89. areas.

  92.     I have had a good question asked:
  93. Will the LS Home Tower work with a
  94. C-128. The answer is YES! The Tower
  95. itself will work with any C= computer
  96. that uses the serial bus.
  97.  
  98.     However, at this time, 64HDriver,
  99. the program that automatically
  100. configures the Tower to the devices on
  101. your serial bus and lets you browse
  102. through the Tower, is C-64 only. C-128
  103. users can use 64HDriver to locate and
  104. "attach" Tower disk images to the C=,
  105. then reset and use 128 mode to load
  106. and run 128 programs. (We are
  107. interested in a 128HDriver that does
  108. everything in 80 column mode. Anyone
  109. want a real challenge?)
