  12.     This is the Q&D converter used to
  13. change the Escher BMP files into
  14. DOODLE files. It is slow as molasses,
  15. but might be just what you need.
  16.  
  17.     The BMP map should be in gray
  18. scale (black and white). The PC
  19. original needs to be sized to 320 x
  20. 240, then scrunched vertically to 320
  21. x 200 (to account for the C-64's tall
  22. pixels).

  24.     Run the program and answer the two
  25. questions: From Which Drive, and
  26. Filename. A white dot will scan from
  27. left to right, bottom to top.

  29.     When the image is finished, answer
  30. the To Disk and Filename (remember,
  31. DOODLE format files begin with "DD").

  33.     As I said, this is Quick and Dirty
  34. and certainly could be improved on. It
  35. just fills a small niche in the GoDot
  36. world, that is, reading BMP files.
