  12. The way the display card handles
  13. graphics is to assign each dot
  14. location two numbers, one for it's
  15. horizontal position and one for
  16. its vertical position.  To put a
  17. dot in the upper left corner of
  18. this screen, the card would tell
  19. the monitor to put a dot at 0,0.
  20. And the lower right of this screen
  21. is 639,199. The middle is 320,100.
  22.    To draw a line, the card would
  23. tell the monitor to put dots at a
  24. series of locations. There are
  25. some more RAM chips on the
  26. display card to remember which
  27. places dots are to be located.
  28. The text character patterns of
  29. dots are stored in ROM chips on
  30. the display card.
