  11.      Congratulations on your choice of PowerMenu Plus, and
  12.   welcome to Brown Bag Software!  PowerMenu is the most versatile
  13.   Menu System available, bar none.  If you have a problem, were

  22.   What is PowerMenu Plus?
  23.        PowerMenu is a menu driven DOS operating environment for
  24.      your IBM-PC or compatible which provides easy access to any
  25.      program on your computer.  Word processing, spreadsheets and
  26.      all of your computer programs are just a keystroke away.
  27.      PowerMenu is particularly suited for end users who would
  28.      rather not worry about subdirectories, command line
  29.      parameters, and command names.

  31. LAST MINUTE ADDITIONS TO PowerMenu Plus 6.00
  32.        Brown Bag Software has opted to include McAfee
  33.      Associates's Virus Scan software instead of the AntiVirus
  34.      program which appears in the documentation.  This decision
  35.      was made because McAfee Associates has consistently been
  36.      recognized as the leader in virus eradication software.  We
  37.      apologize for any inconsistencies which you may find in the
  38.      bound manual, but we feel that VirusScan is a superior
  39.      product.
  40.        In order to invoke the VirusScan software, select the
  41.      AntiVirus option from the utilities menu.  You will then be
  42.      presented with a list of drives which are available for
  43.      scanning.  Using the arrows, move the cursor to the drive
  44.      which you would like to scan.  Then hit the space bar to
  45.      select the highlighted drive.  You will need to tell
  46.      PowerMenu whether the selected drive is a network file
  47.      server of a local disk drive.
  48.        When you have completed selecting drives, hit the enter
  49.      key to begin the scan.  If no viruses are found, you will be
  50.      returned to the utilities menu.  If any viruses are found,
  51.      it is strongly recommended that you follow this procedure:

  53.           1.  Exit from PowerMenu Plus
  54.           2.  Turn off your computer
  55.           3.  Insert a DOS Boot Disk into drive A:
  56.           4.  Turn on your computer
  57.           5.  From the DOS prompt type the following
  58.             [s]:\MENU\CLEAN [d]: [virus ID] /A
  59.  
  60.             Parameters:
  61.               [s]         The drive where PowerMenu Plus is
  62.               [d]         The drive which is infected
  63.               [virus ID]  The virus ID found with SCAN.EXE

  65.           6.  Take the DOS Boot Disk out of Drive A:
  66.           7.  Restart your computer

  68.        When a virus is found, PowerMenu will indicate exactly
  69.      what you should type at the DOS prompt.  Therefor, you will
  70.      not really need to worry about the list of parameters.

  73. NEW FEATURES OF PowerMenu Plus 6.00

  75.   PC-HookUp
  76.        PowerMenu now includes PC-HookUp, a high speed file
  77.      transfer program, which can be executed directly from
  78.      PowerMenu without having to exit to DOS.

  80.   AntiVirus Program
  81.        PowerMenu Plus now includes a built in AntiVirus program.
  82.      On demand, it can scan any disk drive, portion of a disk, or
  83.      your computers memory.  If a virus is found, the damaged
  84.      file can be repaired.

  86.   Group Menus
  87.        For those who will be making use of PowerMenu's multiple
  88.      user logins, PowerMenu now offers group menus.  Group menus
  89.      allow the supervisor to update several users, within the
  90.      same group, at the same time.

  92.   Automatic Network Logins
  93.        For network users, PowerMenu will now take the user's
  94.      network name and insert it in the login screen.  If
  95.      passwords are turned on, the user will simply need to enter
  96.      his/her password.  In addition, passwords may be turned off,
  97.      eliminating the login screen for network users.

  99.   Executing Multiple Commands from PowerMenu

  101.        Menu options can now execute multiple DOS commands.
  102.      PowerMenu will also recognize command names with the .BAT
  103.      extension, and give you the option to edit these files.

  105.   New DiskMan Features
  106.        The Disk Manger now includes PKZIP file support, Directory
  107.      Hacksawing, Duplicating, Moving, and much more.

  110. SPECIAL NOTES ON THE OPERATION OF PowerMenu Plus 6.00

  112.   DesqView Users
  113.      It is not recommended that you run operate the VirusScan
  114.      program while operating from within a DesqView window.
  115.      Problem may arise related to VirusScan's memory scanning.
