  1.         Date Cracker v1.0 Time-limit Demo Remover

  3. This program, in conjunction with the Configuration maker included,
  4. will turn off the time-limited demo of MOST programs. For example,
  5. Netscape Navigator 2.0 beta 2 had expired on Dec. 12, 1995. This 
  6. program, When run instead of Netscape (From Netscape's Directory), 
  7. will change the date to a date specified in the CRACK.DAT file in
  8. the same directory, and will then run Netscape. Then it will change 
  9. the date back to the current date, removing the time-limit!
  10.  
  11. To run, run the config program. Click the ... button. That will allow
  12. you to select an executable file. This program creates the CRACK.DAT 
  13. in the dir you selected the EXE from. Now change the date to a safe 
  14. date, within say 1 month previous of the expiration date. Then click
  15. the "Write" button. This will create the crack.dat. Then copy the
  16. DATECRCK.EXE to the directory that the EXE you selected is in, and
  17. edit the properties of the Icon or shortcut to reflect the DATECRCK.EXE
  18. instead of the EXE you selected. Then change the icon to the EXE's Icon
  19. you selected. Then you are all set! Happy Computing!
