- WhoSetUp is NEEDED as it creates files needed by WhoCalled Version 6.0!

-
- Found a bug that didn't like SINGLE name names. Instead of John Smith,
- TWO NORMAL names, you allow your users single entry names. i.e. JOHN
- Fixed.
-
-
- If this version of WhoSetUp is confusing, I'm NEVER going to program
- again.
-
- If this version of WhoSetup is difficult to understand, (using the EASY
- method) then you should consider putting up your BBS for sale.
-
- 03 Aug 1993
-
- This is the beginning of WhoCalled Professional+ (WhoCalled Version 6.0)
-
- I'm IMPRESSED! There are MORE and MORE users ALL OVER THE WORLD registering
- WhoCalled.
-
- Found a little bug in ALL previous releases of WhoCalled
- that keeps the "WHOTEMP.XXX" files growing and growing and growing.
- I'm really amazed at how many people registered this product
- and have not mentioned this to me. WhoCalled is maintenance
- free. Fixed!
-
- WhoCalled now keeps statistics on how many callers each node has accumulated
- throughout the day in a bulletin called WHOBULL.STS.
-
- AFTER the FIRST call AFTER midnight has been made, ANOTHER bulletin for
- the statistics for the PREVIOUS day is posted as WHOBULL.YES.
-
- Enjoy!
-
-
- 7 July 1993
-
- ONE PROGRAM! ONE COMMAND !
-
- You NO LONGER need to use WHOCALL _THEN_ WHOALL.
- (i.e. your $$LOGOFF.BAT looks like this:)
-
- C:
- CD \WHOCALL
- WHOCALL WHOCFG.1/1
- CD \PCB
-
- (Actually, WHOCALL calls WHOALL, you STILL need WHOALL.EXE)
-
- Found a crawly thing if there were 0 entries in your caller file.
- RARE but it CAN happen.
-
- This product has been working like a CHAMP! ROCK SOLID for A VERY LONG
- TIME!
-
- PCBoard VERSION 15.0 compatible, of course.
-
- Why the New REGISTRATION? There are QUITE the number of copies all across this
- great country of ours, and a LOT from OUTSIDE, from OTHER Wonderful
- countries. I would simply like to know where WhoCalled is being used.
-
- Call The NCCBBS For Your WhoCall.Key File.
-
- (401) 846-1763 It's FREE And available on the first call.
- Type REGWHO at the NCCBBS main command prompt.
-
-
- 22 April 1993
-
- MINOR Cosmetics Added. (Lower/Upper Case Name/City)
-
-
- 30 January 1993
-
- Caught The Ol' "Share Violation" on a VERY busy system. Sorry
- about that one, guys/ladies. I thought I had that one.
- (Thank you Dave McCaleb)
-
- Added the ability to define your own bulletin file.
-
-
- 6 January 1993
-
- Color was put back, and the code is working solid as a rock.
- This is it for awhile. I'm getting burned out on different
- programming practices.
-
-
- 1 Jan 1993
-
- The END Of The Individual Node Bulletin.
-
- Many a SysOp has asked to have the city of the caller included
- in the output bulletin, the average CPS column was removed from the
- output to accomodate those SysOps.
-
-
- 30 December 1992
-
- WhoCalled is now Network Smart.
-
-
- 25 December 1992
-
- YES, Christmas Day I worked on WhoCalled V5.0!
-
- Removed the "PACKING" from whoALL. Packing is NO LONGER
- Needed. The utility is maintenance free.
-
- This HAS it's drawbacks, though. I am checking and making
- sure the files are available. If you have MANY nodes, and a
- user is logging off one node, WhoCalled HAS to wait until
- that node finishes working before it can continue.
-
- The ODDs of this creating a TERRIBLE delay is just about NONE.
- But I HAVE seen it happen. I attempt to open the file(s) 100
- times, (about 20 seconds) and if the other node is hogging the
- whoTEMP.fil(s), I abort and give the utility back to PCBoard.
-
-
- 18 December 1992
-
- Fixed The "PACK" problem with WHOALL.EXE.
- Changed/added/removed some of the cosmetics to increase
- speed.
-
-
-
- 12 November 1992
-
- It looks as though all the work that I've put into WhoCalled
- has paid off. I've managed to have it finally write a bulletin
- for ALL nodes. The output bulletin will be called WhoBull.ALL.
-
- I will leave this version in beta for awhile. (4.0)
-
-
-
- 8 November 1992
-
- I've been working on WhoCalled for FOUR days straight getting it
- to record a bulletin of ALL nodes.
-
-
-
-
- 01 November 1992
-
- Fixed the problem with the new 2/1 node version PCBoard. Thanks,
- Andy for your time.
-
-
- ** This Is The Beginning Of Version 3!
-
-
-
- 28 Oct 1992
-
-
- Installed a "real" AVERAGE CPS count. (Earlier I was using the
- last CPS count found in the log, for that call.) If you look
- real hard, on the BATCH downloads, WHOCALLed does a BETTER
- job than "someone" puts in the callers log as the AVG CPS for
- ALL transfers during that session.
-
- I FINALLY managed to trap those little rascals if there was
- either a user on line, (You NORMALLY couldn't run WhoCalled -
- you would get the output with the bogus text next to the names.)
- or if you want to run it while the callers file is being
- accessed, you can NOW do that. If the callers session is
- NOT complete, the utility will wrap around that call, in these
- cases.

-
- If You Wish To AUTOMATICALLY Install Your $$LOGOFF.BAT Files
- Into Your PCB "Home Directories", At The Command Line (FOR
- WHOSETUP) Type;
-
- WHOSETUP MULTINODES
-
- This Will CREATE (or APPEND) Your $$LOGOFF Files For You.
-
-
-
-
- 10 October 1992
-
-
- I've included the ability of WHOCALLED to SHARE files with
- other windows on a network. THUS, you MAY tell PCBoard, that
- the bulletin for the users to read, is the file called "WHOBULL.xx"
- in your WHOCALLED directory.
-
- Changed the parameter to pass to WHOCALLED the node number,
- instead of the "CNF" file, on the command line. Now, typing:
- whoCALL x, where x = the node number to process.
-
- SINGLE NODE USERS! Please Don't Forget To Put A ZERO There?
- If You've Told PCBSetup, You Have A MultiNode Setup, Then Use
- Node #1, For Your Node Number.
-
- This was changed due to the fact that there are people out
- there with MANY nodes, and it's a pain to have a different
- configuration for EACH node.
-
- Makes is a lot easier to setup, too.
-
-
-
- 1 Oct 1992
-
- Included The "Comment Left" As A Message Left in the messages
- left counter.
-
-
-
- 4 Oct 1992
-
- Removed "0" minute callers from being displayed. This took care
- of the idiots logging on with the idiot names. (Thanks For That
- One, Larry)
-
-
-
- 26 Sept 1992
-
- Added total processing time duration display.
- Added the ability to define the fine line(s) at the top and
- bottom of the output display (and bulletin).
-
-
-
- 23 Sept 1992
-
- I removed the option of running the code in monochrome mode.
- If this causes you a problem, PLEASE contact me, I'll put it
- back.
-
- Added The Abnormal Dis-Connect Flag To The Users Name.
-
- Added the facility to hit the escape to abort a long file run.
-
-
-
-
- 18 September 1992
-
- WOW, MANY new Users of WhoCalled? and a LOT of them are
- calling in to let me know It's working fine. I truly appreciate
- those that let me know of the "QUIT" bug in the
- WHOSETUP.EXE. Fixed. I took out a loop routine to help speed
- things up. My biggest goal at this point is to get it working
- lightning fast. It's not fast enough for me.
-
-
-
- 12 August 1992
-
- Thanks Rick Welshan... for catching the utility only catching
- ONE name for excluding. (Better yet, thanks for letting me
- KNOW. Which is far more generous.)
-
-
-
- Appended: 9 August 1992
-
- If you have seen version 1.0, you'll LOVE this one. The
- enhancements are speed, and a lot of cosmetics. Yet, the BEST
- error trapping.
-
- I've had a couple of operators from around the country call
- and ask to have the date separator OPTION and to install MORE
- callers to exclude. Done!
