- What is:
- ========
-
- Vote is a votingbooth with some nice new features. Among things it's
- multiline awear, compatible with RA, SBBS and QBBS, has a maintainance
- program which can send the results of a question to the user who asked
- it, an editor to edit and/or delete questions, multilanguage support,
- etc. etc.
-
- This program is the successor of my original votedoor/enquete program which
- came in two files. One with an english version and one with a dutch version.
- Due to the multilanguage support this is no longer nessecary.
-
- How to install:
- ===============
-
- !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- If you already used the old VoteDoor/Enquete door you should first read
- the part about converting the QUEST.DAT or VRAGEN.DAT to the new format
- !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
- Ok. To install this door, you first make a directory somewhere on a disk and
- copy all the files in the package into this directory. All my programs work
- with a HomeDir (the directory from where the program was started) and
- expect the supportfiles in this directory.
-
- Now make a type 7 entry somewhere in one of your menus and put something like:
-
- <PATH>\VOTE.EXE -N:*N -P:*P -NOS -MIN:20
-
- in the optional data field. That's all!
-
-
- The parameters:
- ===============
-
- -N: Set node to use.
- -P: Set commport to use (Default is the commport in the config.ra)
- -T: Limit time in door. (-T:*T is default)
- -NOS Toggle, turn noise off for default
- -MIN: Set the minimal sec. lvl required to add questions
- -AKA Use the users handle instead off their name when they add
- a question
-
- -NOMIX Thisone is still a little experimental, but should be used
- if you use the -NOMIX parameter on the PackVote commandline.
-
-
- The utilities:
- ==============
-
- PackVote.Exe Thisone has it's own DOC file. See PACKVOTE.DOC
-
-
- EditVote.Exe This utility is an editor for the questions and answers. It
- also can delete a question completely. It uses the following
- keys:
-
- ArrUp/Down next/prev. question
- Home Top of list
- End End of list
- PgUp/PgDn 10 entries up/down
- DEL Toggle delete flag
- ENTER Show complete question
- ALT-E Edit question
- ALT-Q Quit program.
-
- ConvVote.Exe The conversion utility. (See the part about converting the
- old datafile to the new format.)
-
- TopVote.exe Special Vote program to put into your TOP menu. It forces the
- users to vote on the questions they didn't vote yet.
- TopVote only needs the basic parameters (optional)
- -P:*P and -N:*N
-
- Converting the old questions:
- =============================
-
- converting is simple, but first of all: MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR QUESTIONS FILE!
-
- (Waiting a sec.)
-
- Oke.. now that's done. Converting is simple: Make sure that the old QUEST.DAT
- or VRAGEN.DAT is in the same directory as the CONVVOTE.EXE program.
-
- Enter CONVVOTE.EXE <LANGUAGE>
-
- and ready. Check the result with EDITVOTE if you like.
-
- The <LANGUAGE> Parameter is a 3 character language indentifier. It's used
- with the -NoMix parameter. use ENG for english (Default) or HOL for dutch.
-
- If you make an other languagefile for VOTE, you can also use the language
- ID defined there.
-
-
- ShareWare:
- ==========
-
- Vote is shareware. (What isn't these days..;) And it's rather cheap since
- I do this for fun..;) The fee is $10,- or f10,-, the same amount in any
- free exchangable currency is also accepted. You can send the registration
- fee to:
-
- Gerhard Hoogterp Fidonet: 2:283/702.2
- Kremersmaten 108 2:512/54.5
- 7511 LC Enschede BitNet: HOOGTERPG@UTWENTE.NL
- The Netherlands
-
- Or ask one of my supportboard to help you with registering.
- Please also give me a nodenumber or bitnet address so I can confirm
- receiving the money. (And send my thanks! ;-)
-
- B.t.w. Registering doesn't gain you anything, no key files, missing features
- etc. I still believe that high quality for a low price should be enough..
- Don't disappoint me..
-
- Disclaimer:
-
- As usual:
-
- Use this software at your own risk. If it falls into pieces you have some
- cleaning to do..
-
- Enjoy!
