- UPDN.EXE
- DOCUMENTATION FOR CONVERT.EXE v 2.0
-
-
- If you are a new UPDN user you DON'T need CONVERT.EXE
- so stop reading this file.
-
- Old users should use CONVERT.EXE to convert pre ver 7.00
- bulletin 3,7,8 data files.
-
- Using version 7.00 without converting the data files could cause
- loss of data.
-
- Only pre ver 7.0 files need to be converted.
- Ver 7.1 allows comments in the parameter file
- CONVERT SHOULD NOT BE USED WITH A VER 7.0+ PARAMETER FILE
-
- CONVERT DOES NOT CHANGE YOUR PARAMETER FILE
-
-
- To use convert
-
- 1 - First run your old version of UPDN to update the data
- files
-
- 2 - Then enter
-
- CONVERT prmfile
-
- where prmfile = the path and name of your UPDN parameter file.
-
- The program will convert the files and give the converted files
- the following names:
-
- prm = base name of parameter file
-
- prm3.dat
- prm7.dat
- prm8.dat
-
- It will also create a file called prma.def.
-
- 3 - Edit your parameter file to add the bulletin 9 path before
- running updn ver 7.0+
-
- The old UPDN files can be deleted after a successful convert.
- You may want to run the new version of updn and check the
- bulletins before deleting the old files.
-
-
-
-
-
- CONVERT.EXE doesn't have too much error checking so let
- me know if you have any problems with it.
