-
- Top_draw was designed to create ansi / avatar screens for bbs systems.
- It's not an all-round ansi creation program. It's main purpose is to
- design and create ansi and avatar screens that are usefull on a bbs
- system. This means as small as possible, and without a lot of hassle.
- That's why I have NO plans to implement ansi and/or avatar animation....
-
- I needed this prg myself, because an other drawing prg I used 'till now
- could not create avatar screens. Avatar screens are the new standard in
- the bbs world these days (at least that's my opinion...) because of their
- efficient methode to transfer colors and compressed characters through the
- phone lines... In most cases avatar screens are smaller than ascii screens!
-
- So I started to design Top_draw....
-
- At the moment Top_draw is not at all finished, I'm still adding functions.
- But I was so pleased with the result of a few evenings work that I could
- not resist to place it on my bbs for all my fellow colleague sysops.
-
- The compression routines used in the ansi and avatar saving procedure seem
- to work, with most ansi screens I tested Top_draw was able to create smaller
- ansi/avatar files then that other ansi editor, and any ansi->avatar converter
- I tried... But if you find a ansi picture that cannot correctly convert to
- avatar, let me know!
-
- Have fun,
