  4. Welcome to timEd 1.10!
  5.  
  6. Roughly a year after timEd v1.01 was released, Artware is proud to present
  7. timEd v1.10 with a lot of new and exciting features.
  8.  
  9. The basis was timEd v1.01, a reliable and fast message editor for FidoNet
  10. <tm>, supporting JAM, Squish, Hudson and *.MSG message bases.
  11.  
  12. Added to this basis are many useful functions like nodelist browsing,
  13. redefinable keys and macros, character translation, support for encryption
  14. and spellchecking and many other things.
  15.  
  16. However, TimEd is still a fast no-nonsense editor, giving you speed and
  17. reliablity as it's major 'features'!

  20. Upgrading from v1.01

  29. The easiest way to start with timEd is to copy all the files from the timEd
  30. package to a new directory and edit timEd.cfg to your liking. TimEd.cfg is
  31. a sample configuration file included in the timEd package. It does not
  32. contain _all_ keywords you can enter in a config file, but enough to get
  33. you going for some testing. This is an easy way to test timEd!

  35. Later, take a look at advanced.cfg, which is a sample config file that
  36. shows ALL keywords that can be used. You can then finetune those tiny
  37. details to make timEd work exactly the way you want it to!

  39. Printing out timEd.prn and reading it carefully will increase your
  40. understanding of the program, so you can make use of everything it has to
  41. offer.
