- Update Information!
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- As far as I can tell, All Telegard data converts properly over to Renegade
- format. Please note that Renegade does not support Text files, thus, your
- GFILES.DAT is not converted. Also, you VOTING.DAT is not converting since
- Renegade voting system is totally incompatible. There are many other
- additions Renegade has that do not fit in with Telegard, so please note,
- not ALL data can be accurately converted, but I have done so to the best of
- my ability.
-
- Your users message pointers are NOT converted, though I'm confident this
- would not be a problem to do, I feel that the rush on this release is too
- great to sit down and work on that. It's new software, your users can deal
- with resetting their own pointers. :-)
-
- As for the messages! They convert flawlessly, I admit, I did a shitty job
- in my last converter with messages, I didn't quite have a grasp on the
- message base structure at that time. Since then, I've had Cott give me
- a few pointers while working on RG-HangUp and it seems to have done the
- trick. The few messages I have on my old Telegard setup converted perfectly.
-
- I've done my best to be sure everything converts over in the short amount of
- time it has taken me to update this damn thing. (about time 'eh?) So please
- let me know if something does NOT convert properly or just is skipped at
- conversion time, that way I can add it to my list of to-do's for the ACTUAL
- release of Renegade. Until then...you might not see another converter, depends
- on how long it takes Cott to FINALLY release v1.0. But of course, what do you
- care, you only convert once right?!
-
- Also! The subscription area should look like garbage. I didn't take the
- time to update your new user / validated user settings to parts of the
- subscription table. (I know this! heh.) Just edit the fields normally
- and the screwyness will go away on it's own.
-
- Well, until next time folks, (which will probably NOT be until the v1.0
- release!), it's been fun.
-
- You can reach me in the ITCnet Renegade echo or by netmail via the addresses
- listed in the documentation file. (please read it! it comes in handy)
