- A Time Bank and Time Casino for GAP BBS Version 6
- ------------------------------------------------------------
-
- Welcome to the TIME BRAIN. Now your callers can gamble away or store
- their valuable connect time! This door is written exclusively for BBSes
- that use DOOR.SYS to store BBS information when accessing a door.
- Time Transfers will only work on GAP, but banking will work if your
- BBS reads time information from DOOR.SYS when returning from a door.
-
- This program requires the Brainex Door Manager for its information
- files. If you have not set up the Door manager, please do so before
- you install this door.
-
-
- Here's what the Time Brain can do:
-
- Supports IBM Ansi color & mono, as well as plain text mode (ascii) for
- your callers who don't use IBM characters or don't use Ansi.
-
- Time Brain WILL NOT WORK on versions of GAP below 6!
-
- Will not allow users with less than 5 minutes of connect time to access
- any feature except the Time Bank withdrawl option and the Double or
- Nothing option. This prevents surprise log off in the event the caller
- would gamble away all their connec time.
-
- Features a Time Gambling area, which allows your callers to play:
-
- (1) Match Two
- (2) Time Dice
- (3) Double or Nothing
- (4) Jackpot
-
- MATCH TWO
- Select from the numbered boxes. If callers match two prize values, they
- will win the prize! If they find the >ZAP< they lose 8 minutes!
- Each try will costs 2 minutes!
-
- TIME DICE
- Callers bet a maximum sysop determined amount. This game plays just like
- Las Vegas craps...
- On the first roll: 7 or 11 wins! 2,3, or 12 LOSE!
- If you make it past the first roll, the number you rolled becomes your POINT.
- If you can roll the point before you roll a 7, you win!
- Roll a 7 before the point, you lose!
-
-
- DOUBLE OR NOTHING
- Very Dangerous! Callers bet ALL of their daily time. They can double their
- time if they win, otherwise, they lose ALL of their time and get logged
- off the BBS!
-
-
- JACKPOT
- Crack the combination to the TIME SAFE and win connect time! Each failed
- guess adds more time to the safe's contents.
-
-
- TIME/BYTE BANK (Registered Version only!)
- Callers may Deposit or Withdraw their time or download bytes. The sysop can
- determine the security level for access to the Time Transfer option. This
- option allows callers to transfer time or bytes to another Time Brain user.
- The Sysop sets the maximum amount of time and bytes a caller may store in
- the Time Bank.
-
-
- The setup of Time Brain is simple, all you need to do is unzip
- TBRAIN.ZIP into a temporary directory, then type SETUP.
- A BRAINEX\BRAIN directory will be created. BRAIN.EXE will be copied
- to BRAINEX, and BRAIN.DOC to BRAINEX\BRAIN. Time Brain data files
- will be stored in BRAINEX\BRAIN.
-
- Time Brain Files
- ----------------
- SETUP.BAT Setup Batch File
- BRAIN.EXE Time Brain Program
- BRAIN.DOC Sysop Docs
- REGISTER.DOC Registration Info
-
- All of these files should be in this ZIP, if they are not, don't
- take a chance! Call The Brainex System and get a good copy or view the file
- on a few local boards to see if you can find a complete copy.
-
- To run Time Brain from a batch file use:
-
- BRAIN NODE=x
-
- x= your node number, use 1 for single node BBS.
-
- SET UP
- ======
- The first time you run Time Brain, you will be asked to configure
- your security level options. Indicate the level, the amount of time
- that level may store in the time bank, the amount of download bytes
- the user may store, and if you will allow the level to transfer
- connect time to other users.
-
- If you do not include all levels on your BBS, Time Brain will
- tell you you have not included the current level, and you will
- sent to the setup area to redo these values!
-
- * Note: This version of Time Brain uses a different file format...
-
- BRAIN.DAT
- =========
- Each line has user info in this format:
- "USER NAME","DATE",TIME,BYTES,MAXBANK
-
- "USER NAME"=User's BBS name
- "DATE"=Last date bank accessed
- TIME=minutes stored
- BYTES=download bytes stored
- MAXBANK=Maximum minutes that user can store
-
- You should not need to edit this file.
-
- ------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- The following sysop functions are available while awaiting
- keyboard input :
-
- F5 - Shell to DOS.
- F8 - Twit user and return to BBS.
- F10 - Initiate chat with user.
- CF10 - Answer user page bell.
- Home - Main user stats.
- End - Displays sysop keys available.
- PgDn - Secondary user stats.
- Up Arrow - Increase user's time remaining by 5 minutes.
- Dn Arrow - Decrease user's time remaining by 5 minutes.
-
- One of the nicer features about using the TWIT key, is the user
- is not told that "the sysop wants them to return to the BBS".
- Instead, a very plain and simple message of "returning you to the
- BBS" is displayed. This way, the user is given no indication
- that the sysop is hovering about.
-
- When using the F5 shell to DOS key, to return to the door
- program, simply type EXIT at the DOS command prompt. It is not
- necessary to change directories back to the door directory.
- Page is smart enough to know which drive and directory the
- door program is in and will reset the defaults upon return from
- DOS.
-
- The Up and Down Arrow keys increase and decrease the user's time
- respectively by 5 minutes for each press of the key. There is no
- indication of what is occurring (except by the fact the user's
- time remaining will change), so the sysop should try not to have
- a lead finger. The increase or decrease is effective only while
- the user is in Page.
-
- This version of Time Brain is a DEMO, feel free to use it.
- Keep a few things in mind though... This door is released "As Is" and
- there is *NO* warranty or guarantee that it will work for you and
- not cause any problems. You have chosen to use this door, YOU are
- soley responsible for any unfortunate problems that may develop
- from it's use/misuse. I will gladly listen to any suggestions or
- problems you may have, and I will do my best to fix whatever
- needs to be fixed. I can not be held responsible for any problems
- you may have, whether directly or indirectly due to the use of the
- door or it's utilities or associated files.

- this copy of Time Brain. The Time Bank options will only work with
- a registered version.
