  5. Note: Many upgrading procedures require adding lines to your STRINGS.DAT
  6.       file.  If you have not edited this file (or at least don't mind
  7.       recreating any changes you made), you may delete this file.  Then run
  8.       SCONFIG->String Editor and a fully updated STRINGS.DAT will be created
  9.       automatically.  You can then skip the steps that say "Add the following
  10.       lines to your STRINGS.DAT...".

  13. To Upgrade from SyncChat 2.1, follow these steps:
  14. 1. UNZIP SC.ZIP
  15. 2. Overwrite these files with the new ones from SC.ZIP
  16.    SYNCCHAT.EXE
  17.    SCONFIG.EXE
  18.    SYNCREG.EXE
  19.    SYNCREG.DOC
  20.    ORDER.TXT
  21.    SYNCCHAT.DOC
  22. 3. Add the following line to STRINGS.DAT (Line 78):

  24.    ngNumber of node to send message to, or hwQnguit : hw
  25.  
  26.  
  27. 4. If you run Telegard v3.0+, go into SCONFIG, press 'W', and choose
  28.    "Telegard 3.0+" from the list.  Then press 'D' and fill out that option
  29.    as well.
  30. 5. That's it!

  33. To Upgrade from SyncChat 2.0, follow these steps:

  35. 1. UNZIP SC.ZIP
  36. 2. Overwrite these files with the new ones from SC.ZIP:

  39.    SYNCREG.EXE
  40.    SYNCREG.DOC

  94. 5. In SCFG, the option: "Intercept I/O Interrupts" should be CHANGED TO NO.
  95.    This is VERY Important.
  96. 6. In SCONFIG, make sure under the option "BBS Software", Synchronet is
  97.    selected; and under "SysOp Level", put 90.
  98. 7. You may want to add the "THINK" and "GA" actions from the ACTIONS.LST in
  99.    SC.ZIP to your current ACTIONS.LST.  These two actions are an example of
  100.    the new "Generic Actions".

  153. If you are still using an ancient copy of SyncChat 1.5 or below, you must
  154. reinstall it.  Kill your SYNCCHAT directory
  155. (ex: DELTREE C:\SBBS\XTRN\SYNCCHAT), and then type "INSTALL".
