  1. RUE Quick start:

  3. 1) Setting RUE up
  4.  
  5.    RUE should be located in own directory.
  6.    For example: C:\SBBS\RUE
  7.  
  8.    Also I recommend opening menu file archives in own subdirectories
  9.    with command: ARJ X MNU*.ARJ
  10.  
  11. 2) Configuration changes in SuperBBS
  12.  
  13.    Start SuperBBS's CONFIG.EXE and insert new door called
  14.    'SuperBBS Remote User Editor'. Enter security level and
  15.    flags which are required to enter RUE. Change start and
  16.    end times if necessary. Set active flag on. On commandline
  17.    you should enter something like this:
  18.    C:\SBBS\RUE\RUE.EXE -CRUE.CFG -KNORMALMENUS *E

  20.    I have following door setup in SuperBBS:
  21.    Door name        : SuperBBS Remote User Editor
  22.    Command line     : C:\SBBS\RUE\RUE.EXE -CRUE.CFG -KNORMALMENUS *E
  23.    Security Level   : 1024
  24.    Flags A          : --------
  25.    Flags B          : --------
  26.    Flags C          : --------
  27.    Flags D          : --------
  28.    Start time       : 00:00
  29.    End time         : 24:00
  30.    Active           : Yes

  32. 3) Configuration changes in RUE

  34.    Edit configuration file RUE.CFG with word processor.
  35.  
  36.    Configuration file that comes in RUE package should be quite
  37.    self-explanatory but here is the most important things you
  38.    should check and change to fit your system:

  40.    SYSOPNAME, BBSNAME   - Put here your name and your BBS's name.
  41.    REGCODE              - If you have registered RUE, put here your
  42.                           registration code.
  43.    MODE                 - If you have mono screen (no colors), put
  44.                           here 'NO'.
  45.    SBBSDIR              - Put here your SuperBBS Main Directory.
  46.    SBBSMSGDIR           - Put here your SuperBBS Messagebase Directory.
  47.    NEWUSERSEC           - Put here your BBS's new user security level.
  48.    COMPORT              - Put here COM port where your modem is.
  49.    DORINFO, EXITINFO    - Put here full file path names of your
  50.                           DORINFO?.DEF and EXITINFO.BBS files.
  51.                           On single node systems they are usually
  52.                           created to SBBS Main Directory and on
  53.                           multinode systems to each Node Directory.
  54.    RUEDIR               - Put here RUE's _Menu_and_Ansi_ Directory
  55.                           (where menu and ansi files that you use are).
  56.                           Usually one of the subdirectories of RUE
  57.                           directory.
  58.    TEMPLATEFILE         - Full file path name of templates (groups)
  59.                           file. It will be created at run-time.

  61.    After changes, save RUE.CFG in ASCII-format.

  63. 4) Now RUE is properly set up and you can try running it locally
  64.    from SuperBBS. Have fun!
