- Disclaimer: Use of this program constitutes your agreement to the following.
- I will in no way be liable for any damages you may incure from
- the use of this program. A good software user backs up before
- trying anything new on his/her system. I have tested this
- program to the best I can, and it has been released with no
- known errors.
-
- Usage : RGIMPORT is distributed as Shareware, if you enjoy and use this
- program for more than 2 weeks, you are required to register it
- with me. Registration does several things....
-
- 1. It relieves your guilt about using something you didn't pay for.
-
- 2. It encourages me to not only continue developing RGIMPORT,
- but also to be involved in other programming efforts for the
- benefit of all.
-
- 3. Any disabled features will be activated.
-
- 5. It will show in the file list who it is registered to, to
- show everyone that you support the 'try before you buy' concept.
-
-
- Registration : Registration for this version of RGIMPORT is only $10.
- I feel this is more than fair, considering what it does, and
- the time that was involved in developing and testing it.
-
- As more features are added, the price will go up. Registering
- now will let you get in while the price is low.
-
- To register just fill out the RGIMPORT.REG file and mail it
- off to me. Depending on your choices, you should get your
- registration code within a few weeks.
-
- !IMPORTANT!
- Your copy will be registered to the EXACT name you provide.
- this name MUST match what you have as 'Sysop Name' under
- (S)etup, submenu A. BBS Configuration.
-
- Now, back to our regularly scheduled program....

-
- How to use RGIMPORT...
-
- RGIMPORT must be run from your main Renegade directory, UNLESS you have
- the enviroment variable 'BBS' set such as
- SET BBS=C:\RENEGADE\
- ^- IMPORTANT that you include the trailing slash!
-
- RGIMPORT will do several things, however, you must select them In The
- Proper Order or they Will Not Work.
-
- [Base#] [Input Filename] <Column #, registered copys only>
- OR
- [CRC]
-
- Items in {} are what RGIMPORT will use if no other choices are selected.
- Items in [] are required
- Items in <> are optional
-
- [Base#]
- This is the number of the Renegade file base, note that although
- Renegade starts at 1, the data still starts at 0 (like Telegard)
- Therefore, 0 is what Base 1 is inside Renegade.
-
- [InputFile]
- This is a PLAIN text file, in the following format:
- ( A sample file, named TEST.BBS is included in the archive)
-
- <Column #>
- This tells RGIMPORT at what column # the description starts,
- if left blank or RGIMPORT is unregistered, it will default to 15
-
-
- |- Column 1 Starts filename, may contain spaces, 12 chars max (FILE .ZIP)
- v 1 v- Starts description 60 chars MAX
- 123456789012345
- | |
- FILENAME.EXT Description Here, 60 Chars MAX
- File.zip wierd zip file
- FILEB .ARJ an ARJ file
-
- * These are all acceptable entries. The file MUST NOT contain ANY blank lines.
- * If it does, they _might_ be imported into your DIR file or it _may_ lock up
- if the last line or first line of the file is blank (nope, not sure why...)
-
- [CRC]
- This will return a CrC value, which you can compare with the
- value listed in this file.
-
- The CrC value when RGIMPORT left my system was : 676d661b
- If it has changed, then the EXE has changed and
- I would not recommend you use it.
-
- Using these command line options, these items are ORDER Sensitive
-
- Examples....
-
- RGIMPORT 0 TEST.BBS
- RGIMPORT 0 C:\TEMP\TEST.BBS
-
- Would upload files found in the file TEST.BBS to area 0, this is file area 1 as
- listed in Renegade filebase editor! Note the 'FILES.BBS' file can be any name
- and in any directory you specify. The file is only opened, read, and closed.
- It is not written to or deleted.
-
- RGIMPORT 0 D:\LISTS\FILES.BBS 23
-
- Would upload files found in the file FILES.BBS to area 0, this is file area 1 as
- listed in Renegade filebase editor! Note the 'FILES.BBS' file can be any name
- and in any directory you specify. The file is only opened, read, and closed.
- It is not written to or deleted. The descriptions would be taken starting at
- column 23.
-
- Closing...
-
- Whether you register this program or not, I'd like to hear your comments
- about it. Let me know what you think of it, how well (or not) it works, the
- screen displays, improvements, additions, etc. I can only come up with so
- much, and it is up to YOU to let the utility writers know exactly what you
- are looking for. If you find any errors or bugs in either the program or the
- documentation, please let me know!
