-
- RA_STATS is a program which will analyze your RemoteAccess v2.xx Log File
- and generates a bulletin (ANSi/ASCii) to a specific path which you can
- specify in the configuration file.
-
- RA_STATS is multinode aware, it can support up to 250 Nodes!
-
- RA_STATS will report:
-
- o How many calls received today
- o What speed the callers called up at
- o How many local logins occured
- o How many file areas were accessed
- o How many messages were posted.
- o And much more...!

- #1. If you are upgrading from a previous version of RA_STATS, it may be
- necessary to delete your current RA_STATS.CFG file.
-
- The two files (RA_STATS.EXE and RA_STATS.CFG) must be in the same directory.
- RA_STATS.EXE must be run after each call to the board has been terminated.
- This way, you can ensure you have an up to date report for every single
- caller. Of course if you're registered, your key file must reside in the
- same directory as RA_STATS.EXE also. :)
-
- If you don't begin each day with a new log file, yesterday's and every
- other day therein will be appended to the report. (NOT RECOMMENDED!)
-
- We suggest beginning each day with a new log, but this is entirely up to
- the board's sysop. You have been warned.. :)
- ---
-
- Installing RA_STATS couldn't be any easier, follow these methods:
-
- 1.) Place all of RA_STATS' files into their own directory.
- 2.) Run STATSCFG.EXE and answer a few questions.
- Remember: First delete RA_STATS.CFG *IF* you're upgrading from a
- previous version.
- 3.) Look below for Parameters and Where to run RA_STATS.
-
- How to run:
- RA_STATS [Node#] <to generate screens for an individual node>
- or
- RA_STATS -Total <to generate a screen with totals of all nodes {+}>
-
- About the Parameters:
-
- {+} = Supported by Registered Version Only!
-
- RA_STATS Will write .ANS/.ASC screens for up to 250 Nodes! {+}
- RA_STATS will append RemoteAccess Screen Attributes of your choice! {+}
-
- [Node#] = This simply tells RA_STATS which LOG it should scan. If 2 was
- entered, then RA_STATS would scan RA2.LOG and generate an output
- file called STATS2.A??, if 3 was entered, then RA_STATS would
- scan RA3.LOG and generate STATS3.A??
-
- Supports up to 250 Nodes! {+}
-
- -Total = Creates a TOTAL Node Statistics screen. Meaning all of the info
- from the STATSx screens will be generated together into one screen.
- Perfect for a multinode BBS. Generates the screen STATSTOT.A??
- {+}
-
- You can run RA_STATS one of two ways.
-
- Method #1: Run it after every logoff!
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-
- This method will always keep the Information Updated!
-
- To do this is simple.. (here's a sample batch file) -- SINGLE NODE
-
- :START
-
- if errorlevel 30 goto AFTER
-
- C:\RA\RA.EXE -E30
-
- :AFTER
- cd\ra\ra_stats
- ra_stats 1
- goto START
-
- * Here's the way on how to do is MULTINODE -- (Granted that the %TASK% *
- * Variable is defined in the node's batch file) Thats the easiest way. *
-
- :START
-
- if errorlevel 30 goto AFTER
-
- C:\RA\RA.EXE -N%TASK% -E30
-
- :AFTER
- cd\ra\ra_stats
- ra_stats %TASK% ; The [Node#] was specified, and it will scan
- ra_stats -total ; that specific log & it will create STATSx.A??
- goto START
- * You can only scan 2 or more .LOG files if you are registered *
-
- NOTE: ALL *.LOG files must reside in the same directory. Many Multi-Node
- systems have their .LOG files in their own directories. This release
- doesn't support that.
-
- If you are registered, just run RA_STATS -Total for combined
- statistics of all nodes.
-
-
- Method #2 - Run it once nightly, before the maintenance
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- This would be ideal, so you could have the screen Yesterday's Activity
- off of your Bulletin's Menu.
-
- After you run the program, somewhere on your TOP menu or whatever menu
- you want, use a (Type 5) to display the screens.
-
- Example from RACONFIG/MANAGER/MENUS/TOP.MNU Below:
- 12345678901234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456789012345678
-
-
- STATS1
-
- Action Display .ANS/.ASC file (Type 5)
- Display
- OptData
- HotKey
- AutoExec Yes
- Colour Colour example
-
- MinSec 0 TimeUsed 0 FlatCost 0
- MaxSec 0 TimeLeft 0 TimeCost 0
- A flags -------- Age 0 Terminal Any
- B flags -------- MinSpeed 0 Nodes
- C flags -------- MaxSpeed 0 Groups
- D flags -------- Credit 0 DayTimes
-
- ...now you're all setup and ready to go!

-
- RA_STATS is SHAREWARE, which means you can evaluate this program for up to
- 30 days, after that time, you must register or discontinue use of RA_STATS.
-
- We do encourage registering!
-
- If Registered, the annoying beeps and [UNREGISTERED] warnings go away,
- you can create individual reports for up to 250 Nodes, and your name
- (as defined in STATSCFG) will be appended to the report's
- "System Operator(s)" field instead of [UNREGISTERED SYSOP!].
-
- If registered, you can then toggle the usage of RemoteAccess screen
- attributes such as ClearScreen, No Break Codes and Beeps.
-
- Also, if you're multinode you can use the very nice -TOTAL feature!
-
- For registration info and/or cost, please read REGISTER.FRM!

- I'd like to thank everyone who sent in their suggestions on how
- to make RA_STATS a better program!
-
- Special thanks to Rand Nowell, Jeremy Landvoigt and everyone else for
- their outstanding time and patience with me in my feeble attempt to learn
- Turbo Pascal with my consistant questions and beggings for help at times.
-
- Thanks!
