- RA2FD v2.00a
- by Jerry Cain
- Aug 9, 1993
-
- WHAT IT IS:
-
- RA2FD will read RA's LASTCALL.BBS file after a caller logs off and insert
- the user's name and city into Front Door's LASTCALL.FD activity file. It
- will also insert the user's time as found within the LASTCALL.BBS as well
- as the current system date. In addition to this information, it inserts
- your net/node number. All this information will be displayed in the FROM:
- field when FD reloads.
-
-
- WHY I WROTE IT:
-
- I like being able to see who the last caller on BBS was without having to
- load up the BBS.
-
-
- LICENSE:
-
- The user of RA2FD is licensed to use it on any machine or any number of
- machines for whatever purpose the user sees fit. RA2FD is not commercial,
- not shareware, and not even Public Domain. It simply costs you nothing to
- use. I retain all rights to the program. However, I am not responsible
- for any problems your computer system encounters, either directly or
- indirectly, as a result of using RA2FD.
-
-
- HOW TO USE IT:
-
- Place RA2FD in your RA directory and insert the following as the last line
- in your EXEBBS.BAT, just before calling FRODO.BAT:
-
- RA2FD -R<lastcall.bbs> -F<lastcall.fd> -A<address> [-I<history>] [-T] [-L]
-
- where: -R is RA's LASTCALL.BBS file
- -F is Front Door's LASTCALL.FD file
- -A is your Network address [POINT optional]
- -I force update of FD's INBOUND.HIS / path to history file
- -T force display of user stats on FD's WFC
- -L insert ALIAS into LASTCALL.FD instead of user name
-
-
- NOTES and LIMITATIONS:
-
- - RA's structure for LASTCALL.BBS doesn't have a *date* field (although it
- does have a *time* field), so I had to grab the system date.
-
- - As of version 2, RA2FD will compare file times of LASTCALL.BBS and
- LASTCALL.FD. It will refuse to update anything if the LASTCALL.BBS is
- earlier than LASTCALL.FD (i.e., someone hung up before logging on).
-
- - The -T switch forces RA2FD to insert user stats instead of network
- address info.
-
- - The results of using the -T switch are as follows (as displayed on FD's
- WFC screen):
-
- 1:14400/76
- | | |
- | | ------ number of times called
- | ----------- baud rate of this call
- -------------- task number
-
- - You still need to include the -A<address> switch even if using the -T switch.
-
- - When using the -I switch, be sure to include the path and filename to
- FD's inbound.his file. RA2FD will NOT create an INBOUND.HIS file if it
- cannot find the path/filename supplied. Such a limitation prevents
- RA2FD from creating the file in the wrong directory.
-
- - When RA2FD updates the INBOUND.HIS file, it will insert the number of
- times the user called in the SENT field.
-
- - This is the last version that will use command line switches. Subsequent
- versions, if any, will use configuration files.
-
- - In general, the order of the command line switches is unimportant.
- However, at the very least, you must include -R, -F, and -A. The other
- switches are optional.
-
- - When using the -L switch, RA2FD will insert the user's name if the user
- doesn't have an alias.
