- [Introduction]
-
- Quote Access Controller has a simple concept. It will simply allow or not
- allow a user to leave a logoff quotation base on - 1) If they're GUEST;
- 2) What their access level is. This is a very helpful utility if you have
- the problem of users leaving 'bad' quotes or quotes making references to
- the Sysop's mother. <grin> Before running QAC or QACONFIG, read this
- documentation thoroughly.
-
-
-
- [Setup]
-
- First, at the DOS command line, type QACONFIG, and edit the fields as
- desired. Online help is available for each field. QACONFIG will create
- a file called QAC.SL2. You must have QAC.EXE and QAC.SL2 in the same
- directory!!! Then, to set up Quote Access Controller as an AutoDoor
- program, go into your SL 2.xx configuration program to AutoDoors Setup,
- and at the 'Logon AutoDoor Command' field put:
-
- QAC.EXE [Path]
- |
- |In this position, you would put the path to SL's CONFIG.SL2
- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- Do this for single node and multi node setup. For MULTI-NODE setup,
- there should be a different command line on each config file. For
- Example, If I had to nodes, and the path to my first node is C:\BBS,
- and the path to my second node is C:\BBS\NODE2, in my node 1 config
- file I would but in the 'Logon AutoDoor Command':
-
- QAC.EXE C:\BBS
-
- And in the node 2 config file I would put:
-
- QAC.EXE C:\BBS\NODE2
-
- In the second logon autodoor field, 'Directory Path,' simply enter the
- path to your QAC.EXE and QAC.SL2 files.
-
- In the third logon autodoor field, 'Communications Support,' you should
- toggle the option to 'Standard.' You could also toggle it to 'Force-Color,'
- if needed.
-
- In the fourth logon autodoor field, 'Abort Method,' you should toggle
- the option bar to 'Terminate' so that SL will terminate via DOS procedure
- if a carrier loss is detect. If you perfer to use 'Reboot,' do so.
-
- In the fifth logon autodoor field, 'Write Protection,' you must toggle
- the option bar to 'No.' QAC will not work properly if you do otherwise!
-
-
-
- [Notes about QACONFIG]
-
- -Help is available in field #4 for help with any of the other fields
-
- -QAC will ignore the access level of GUEST. Thus, you must set field
- #2 accordingly... if you want GUEST to be able to leave a quote, set
- this field to 'Yes,' if not, set it to 'No.'
