- OPRIV.EXE
- An OPUS PRIV.BBS editor
-
- OPRIV will edit OPUS 1.00 *PRIV.BBS files. It is ONLY for use with
- OPUS 1.00!! In order to sort out some of the confusion of the
- changes from OPUS 0.00 (or Fido) to OPUS 1.00, OPRIV will create,
- edit and write a series of default *PRIV.BBS files for OPUS 1.00,
- which are NOT the same as those used by OPUS 0.00, if the *PRIV.BBS
- files it expects are shorter than those that OPUS 1.00 uses or are
- missing.
-
- To use, just call OPRIV from whatever directory has your *PRIV.BBS
- files, there are no command line parameters at this time. Help is
- in the lower left-hand corner of the screen. One important thing
- you have to understand before you start editing the strings that
- describe the commands is that the ORDER of those commands is what
- decides what will happen, not the first letter of the command. For
- example the first command from the MAIN Menu will always lead to
- the message areas. It doesn't matter if you call it the default,
- "M)essage section" or "R)ead Messages" or translate it to another
- language, "L)ea" in Spanish for example, but you'll definitely
- confuse your users if you make it "F)ile Section", because OPUS
- will take the user to the message section no matter what you call
- the command or what the first letter is although the first letter
- is what the user will press to take them to the message section.
-
- Its just that simple. Have fun, and don't expect any startling
- changes, *PRIV.BBS files are on the "hit list" for OPUS 2.00 so
- there's not much point in devoting a lot of time to this program.
