- Welcome to OLMS 2.0, a powerful new mail door that allows you, the user,
- to perform many actions through control messages.
-
- These control messages are created in your mail reader just like sending
- any normal message, except the person you address it to is "OLMS". The
- subject of the message is the action you wish it to take.
-
- Here are a list of the actions you can perform...
-
- ADD - Joins the conference that the
- message was written in
-
- DROP - Drops the conference that the
- message was written in
-
- RESET - Resets the message pointer in
- the conference that the message
- was written in
-
- RESET number - Number of messages back to reset
- the pointer to in the area that the
- message was posted
-
- KEYWORD keyword word - Adds a keyword to the user keywords
- listing
-
- FILTER filter word - Adds a filter to the user filter
- listing
-
- TWIT twit name - Adds a twit name to the user twit
- listing
-
- KEYWORD -keyword word - Removes a keyword from the user
- keyword listing
-
- FILTER -filter word - Removes a filter from the user
- filter listing
-
- TWIT -twit name - Removes a twit from the user
- twit name listing
-
- REQUEST filename - Requests a file from your FDB
-
- REQUEST conf msgnum - Requests the files attached
- to msgnum in conf
-
- REQUEST msgnum - Requests the files attached
- to msgnum in the current conf
-
-
- So, for an example...
-
- From: PETE ROCCA
- To: OLMS
- Subj: DROP 134
-
- Would drop area 134 from your area configuration when the message
- was uploaded to the system.
-
- Another example...
-
- From: PETE ROCCA
- To: OLMS
- Subj: REQUEST GOODGAME.ZIP
-
- Would request the file GOODGAME.ZIP from the BBS when you uploaded
- your replies.
-
- If you are using the BlueWave format, then most likely your mail
- reader will provide other ways to perform the same actions, but
- even if it does, you can always use this method if you prefer.
-
- One other thing that OLMS allows you to do, is enter netmail in your
- offline reader, even in the QWK format. This can be done simply by
- placing an at symbol (@) before the fidonet style address you wish
- to send netmail to.
-
- For example, if you wanted to send a message to 1:2401/305, you
- would post your message like this...
-
- From: PETE ROCCA
- To: BOB SMITH
- Subj: @1:2401/305
-
- ...it's as simple as that!
-
- I hope that you enjoy this new mail door, and if you have any
- questions, your Sysop will probably be more than happy to help you
- out.
-
- Good luck, and happy mailing!
