- NewAlias.PPE v1.0
- 09/15/93
- What does it do?
-
- NewAlias will ask your users IF they wish to change their Alias when entering
- an Alias allowed conference....
-
- Installation:
-
- There are many ways to install NewAlias.ppe....The easiest would be by
- accessing the program with the Cmd.Lst
- If you have Conference specific Cmd.lst you will have to configure it for
- all the conferences you allow an Alais, or those you wish to allow a change
- using the NewAlias PPE.. Note - This will not prompt the user for a change
- when they enter a conference.
-
- Example: edit you Cmd.Lst or Conference Cmd.lst to look something like this,
-
- NA 20 C:\newAlias\alias.ppe
-
-
- In order for NewAlias to ask for an Alias change, it must be loaded from
- within a display file...I have found that most Sysops don't use a intro file
- in most conferences, so that seemed to be the best choice..
-
- So how do we do it?
- Using a text editor, on the first line enter the full path to the NewAlias
- files
- Example: Your Intro file should look something like this,
-
- !C:\newAlias\alias.ppe
-
- Now save this file...It should only have one line.
- IF you happen to already have an existing Intro file...Insert your path
- on the last line of your Intro file...Be sure to add a @WAIT@ or @PAUSE@
- on the line preceeding the full path to the NewAlias.PPE
-
-
- Remember, you must have a conference specific intro file for each conference
- you allow....I found it easier to have the same Path and Intro file in all
- my Alias allowed conferences
-
